You know what, I kinda take that back.

I feel like it's more androgynous now than it was then though, because it's much more acceptable now for guys to wear make-up.

But like, idk how, 14 years ago or whatever, people saw this and were like "maybe a dude?"

To be clear I mean this as in "people were sexist back then, because it was used as a pejorative, just because her makeup wasn't conventional and she wasn't wearing revealing clothes"
And
"I think this aesthetic fuckin rocks and was way ahead of its time"

It's just gonna make premium more expensive because they have to recoup their engineering costs somehow and I don't think that the extra ad views from bypassing as blockers will cover it.

Im gonna edit my post because everyone is too hung up on extreme sports.
Horror movies also fall under the same category of thing. It's not about the risk, it's about triggering fear response. I just picked extreme sports because I couldn't fit the whole premise in the title

I agree those kinds of arcane windows errors suck worse than they do in Linux. But I get those errors so rarely on either system.

In Windows, I'll have something happen like my windows won't remember their last position when I unlock.

In Ubuntu I'll have to restart my Bluetooth service every week or so. Or sometimes the update-software modal will not take focus or accept mouse/keyboard input until I reboot. Most recently I had an app from the official app store fill up my entire partition because it spammed syslog, which broke my credentials cache, and I couldn't even log in until I made a temporary sudo user and emptied syslog.

None of these are super difficult, but they also don't provide error messages.

I mean, why do you expect this to be going faster than commercial airlines?

They'd certainly be able to control the speed at which these things get squirted to the next tower. Considering how close together these towers are illustrated to be, the parabolic arc could be pretty flat even at subsonic speeds.

The question is, what would it be like to ride? Between the towers the vehicle is in free fall, so the passengers would be weightless for like 0.5s and then get a kick in the ass as they pass through a ring, then weightless agains, and so on.

Ah fuck, I should have called it: Shai-hulussy

It sounds much better spoken aloud.

There is no way that it works without breaking even more laws of physics than the game. So you're right, you can't gain momentum. Nor can you be deposited intact on the other side of the portal.

But of the options, the one you described seems the least likely. I keep telling you exactly how it wouldn't work, and rather than addressing the concerns you just say "no".

We can agree that you can partially enter a portal, so you can put your hand in and only your hand comes through the other side. So now tell me: how does your hand move out of the way for your arm to come through, without moving? Because if it moves, then it has gained momentum, which you've explicitly said doesn't happen.
