Man I hate hearing about this. Matt really seems like a great dude. His wild passion and animated personality really make me smile. His pandemic twitch streams were a great source of comfort for me. I don't always comment on situations like this online, but I don't actually know anyone in real life who knows who Matt is and I just wanted to throw some love out there for him.
I actually agree that it's a completely different word from a cultural standpoint, and I don't find it offensive when an Australian says it most of the time. That said, there is nothing more obnoxious than hearing a reddit-brained American try to drop it to be edgy, thinking they sound worldy. It's a worse version of Americans saying "wanker", though that might actually be more lame.
The real crazy thing is that 9 other people felt ok getting on a plane with him.
