A friend of mine is a surgeon, and he told me he really struggles not to lose his shit when he hears people thanking God after he has been standing on his feet for multiple hours to save someone's life.
"You can go on slaughtering civilians, but only for a few more days, then enough is enough ok?"
All good but I'd just like to point something out.
When you boil pasta you're actually hydrating it, and it's a process that occurs above 80C, you don't need water to be boiling savagely.
In fact, it's preferable to let pasta simmer, as full boiling is a bit too "violent" and tends to damage most kinds of pasta.
You know, when some pieces are broken and torn like when it's overcooked? You can avoid that by keeping the temperature low.
Some people in Italy even turn the fire off after the water has started boiling ,as the water is hot enough to cook the pasta and keep it nice and firm.
Nah. People get really pissed when they're REALLY hungry.
We're kept at a perfect balance, we can't afford top shelf stuff, but most people have enough to get by.
Sure, it feels like everyone is a medium-sized misadventure away from financial collapse, but still, we get by. We have Internet, shows to stream, cheap shitty fast food next door.
No one can be bothered to go outside to chop heads demanding to redistribute wealth.
Especially considering that half the population has been talked into believing that by pulling your boot straps you can get as rich as Elon Musk, and Trump is literally Jesus.
There's no revolution incoming, just occasional angry tweets.
A an European, where mandatory tipping is not a thing, I find this practice of outsourcing the payment of restaurant employee's salaries to customers absolutely stupid.
I really can't understand how either customers or employees are letting this go on.
If one isn't able to pay their employees a living wage they should just pick another fucking thing to do tbh.
Also, this seems like a much, MUCH better PR move than throwing paint at masterpieces in fucking museums.
I don't know who thought that was something that would have moved the public opinion towards their cause.
In theory I'd agree with you. I don't mind reading of nuances or different opinions than mine.
In general however, conservative media are worthless piece of shit embarrassments that I don't want to waste time on.
There's a difference between discussing with sometime with a different opinion, and stopping in the middle of the road responding to every deranged, mentally challenged ignorant mean crack addict who yells their vision of the world from the top of a soap box.
Not to be a dick but if they don't like it they could do something about it themselves. Hoping that "the world will do something" rarely has good results.
Also, everything else aside, not until they stop doping all their fucking athletes.
Literally every company I worked in assigned name.surname@company.com, I don't know why people would complicate their life by doing literally anything else.
What I hear some acquaintances say is like "who cares, I'll go to the beach, turn the AC on, what's the big deal" .
As if the floods we had in Italy this year, or the wild fires, or the storms, or the draughts, or the Alps without snow, the glaciers disappeared, the sea turned green, the invasion of jellyfish weren't connected.
Some people, most people, are just too fucking stupid.
Oh, I have a straight cousin too, he's cool.
