Spirited away... Something about the first opening notes of the piano when that movie starts always moves me and fills me with such warm feelings.

Honestly most studio Ghibli movies I've watched a lot... But man... Spirited away does something to me.

so i have't really gotten to test this hard but seems like 4ish to 6ish hrs of work.. It does get a lil warm but I have my plasma settings to change cpu gov on power events and that really helps... i think i could get more if I switched to sway or something. It suspends really well with only loosing a percent or two overnight and hibernating works.

The only things that aren't working out of box are autorotating the screen and when the device boots up it seems to want to display the login screen on a screen other than the default. A simple closing the lid, waiting for it to sleep and reopening the screen fixes this. Or if you have an external monitor it'll output there by default. I feel like the latter could easily be fixed as it feels like I need to default it do the correct screen and I suspect it's picking up the touch screen device as the display... It shows up on the battery settings as a display with a discharging battery for some reason. The auto rotating doesn't bother me... I prefer having explicit control of the rotation for my needs.

Ubuntu was first os I really stuck with for years... It's weird the shifts they made in the past. The horrid Amazon search in unity shell was their first major misstep... And as much as I understand the snap shift, their implementation was balls. I was forced to jump ship when a work reliant version of Citrix somehow completely would break app armor...

semi-related tale. when i was in college, there was a snow storm and a bachelor party in the same week... so I missed 2 of 2 classes before the friday quiz. the class was hard already and i wanted to at least show that i cared about the course. so, I showed up to the quiz anyway. i ended up spending 40 mins or so writing about how the rhythmic hip thursts of some historical science person had changed my entire life and the landscape of modern dance. i had zero clue what the quiz was on and deserved to fail. i got a 50 % on the quiz and the professor thanked me, but asked that i never do that again. that was a fucking win over a zero. sometimes people just need a good laugh.
