Tbh I share an apk twice a year on a shared Whatsapp group and that's all the "maintaining" I do, so I don't care that much. I've had worse

And revanced takes some steps, more than just "install this package, done".

It depends. Personally I patch it and then share the patched apk with friends and family, so for them it's literally just "install this package, done" without compromising security.

The original company was never Italian. The founder was Italian, but the company was incorporated in German Alsace, which then became French Alsace after the Great War. There was a brief attempt at a revival in Italy in the late 80s, early 90s, but it didn't really go anywhere. Today's company is French and is mostly controlled by the Croat Rimac (and partially by Porsche, which owns VW, which owns Porsche)

How it works is that once you start getting these Server Side Ads (SSA), Youtube will create a sort of queue of videos in place of your usual video, with the first few being ads that can't be skipped and have a red bar (not yellow) and in the end you'll get your video. They are not literally part of the original video stream, they are separate streams that get injected as if they were the original video. It's called SSAP, and I've been experiencing it from the last weekend. In the meantime, they've pretty much broken their player to implement this.

Ublock Origin has released a temporary fix yesterday here

Alternatively, you can use this extension to redirect from YouTube videos to piped.video I used it, it works very well, can't guarantee for much more.

edit: fixed wording

More like

Nobody wants to do business with unstable ~~nazis~~ people

Plenty of businesses ready and willing to do business with stable (and rich) Nazis, dictators and slavers. Look at the line of people and businesses more than ready to make deals with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, etc

If you are rich and have a stable government, there's no amount of human rights violations and genocides stopping corrupt fuckers from trying to make deals with you and profit.

bit, Nibble, Byte, Word, doubleword, longword, quadword, double-quadword, verylongword, halfword

They check all Imperial criteria:

  • confusing names
  • some used only in some systems
  • size depends on where you are
  • some may overlap
  • doesn't manage to cover all the possible needs, but do you really need more than 64 bits?
  • would probably cause you to crash a rocket

I'm pretty sure this measure was requested either by the government or some big three letter agency.

I doubt that, if all printers were manufactured by a government monopoly, you wouldn't have this shit baked in. It would probably be way worse

I don't think he meant to the consumer. EU countries can negotiate for the price with pharmaceutical companies, so they can lower the price.

In the US insurance companies can try to negotiate, but their weight is quite low, and the federal government (medicaid, medicare) is forbidden by law to negotiate. Whichever price pharma sets, it's that.

I think it's a consequence of higher interest rates drying up VC money, meaning that tech companies now have to actually be profitable, rather than just grow.

If the plan was grow now, profit later, then later has come

From the video description:

Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Friday (June 23) that the official Kremlin-backed version of why Moscow started its 'special military operation' against Ukraine was based on lies concocted by his perennial adversary - the army's top brass.

Prigozhin has for months been accusing Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Russia's top general, Valery Gerasimov, of rank incompetence, but on Friday he for the first time rejected Russia's core justifications for beginning its military intervention in Ukraine on Feb. 24 last year.

"...The Defence Ministry is trying to deceive society and the president and tell us a story about how there was crazy aggression from Ukraine and that they were planning to attack us with the whole of NATO" Prigozhin said in a video clip released on Telegram by his press service, calling the official version "a beautiful story."

"The special operation was started for different reasons," he said. "The war was needed.. so that Shoigu could become a marshal ... so that he could get a second 'Hero [of Russial medal. The war wasn't needed to demilitarise or denazify Ukraine."

He also said the conflict had been needed to acquire "material assets" to divide among the ruling elite.

Prigozhin portrays his Wagner private militia, which spearheaded the capture of the city of Bakhmut last month, as Russias most effective fighting force, and has enjoyed unusual freedom to publicly criticise Moscow, albeit not President Vladimir Putin, on whose support he ultimately depends.
