From what I can tell they are working on updating their electron version to one that is aware of pipewire, this is the first part of solving the issue (especially for Wayland folks), the second part is just fixing some code in the client to deal with that and then it should be fixed until we deprecate pipewire in 2079. Additionally it would make discord finally act as a native Wayland app instead of being forced in xwayland.
Looks very interesting, love to see how well it works (and interoperates between different fediverse platforms)
It's because they rewrote the app from the ground up. They had a lot of issues getting the AMOLED theme to work because the base of the entire thing was written with the idea that there will only ever be 2 themes.
Yup, still mad about that one. Some day nobody will remember that the mobile app was somewhat responsive. I do know that there are projects that still allow you to use the old app; but I don't know how long the API for it will still be supported by discord.
Length might have mattered in the 80s and 90s when IDEs were crap but we got autocomplete in pretty much all our text editors (even TUI ones like vim).
As for readability there is an argument to be had in specific contexts, but 9 out of 10 times it makes more sense to use a proper word.
Example:
let list = [1, 2, 3];
for i in list {
println!("{}", i);
}
In this case using item
in the place of i
would be more fitting.
I really like these ones, they are minimalist yet detailed, the bottom set would be a great pair of app/notification icons.
Maybe have an option in the app itself to change the icon so people can choose to use any icons they prefer.
I loved the first half of season 1, anything past that was riding on the hype train for me, season 2 felt like shit when it came out so I dropped it a few episodes in.
The whole redemption arc was great and I lived it, sad it decided to keep it so short as it was the highlight for many.
That said, Mushoku Tensei does the whole redemption arc amazingly as you see Rudeus grow throughout the series and it's second season is a much appreciated slow burn where we get a good idea of his mental state while things are moving off screen.
Then it might be one of those scripts
You can save posts on Lemmy, for me it's a bookmark icon (I use liftoff) they will show up in your bookmarks.
I love this feature as a nice "come back to this later" button
I know that experience far too well, trying to run even sildurs makes my GeForce 930m cry in pain
How do you get the freshest shit to post and what wood would you recommend for posting it?
They could bother with pulse, but IDK how portable the API for that is, also discord working on Linux is more accidental and this getting fixed might just be because they want it fixed on the Mac side too.
It's sad to see that discord has waited over 8 years to do this, but the whole thing is soydev code anyways.
