And this is how I discovered pan seasoning.

Given the recent horrible things about non-stick pans, I wonder if I should just buy seasoned cast iron pans.

The problem with Facebook is that it's un-searchable from any search engine. Also, Meta.

Reddit has stopped being a good guy a long time ago.

RIP Aaron Swartz

You don't have to do it! :)

One of the original maintainers of Simple Mobile Tools forked the project and he's adding new features and fixing bugs.

The project is called Fossify and you can already download the apps from both Play store and F-Droid

2038 is approaching super fast and nobody seems to care yet

The worrisome thing is that there's no alternative other than Firefox, or Safari on Apple platforms. Every single other browser is Chromium.

We must defend Firefox at all costs, it's the last glimmer of freedom.

Yes, just like the blockchain

The desync issue is probably caused by different frame rates. For example, an American movie is 60 FPS, while a Greek one is 50 FPS. That leads to a slow desyncining of the audio throughout the video.

If you know about this problem, then I think it's quite easy to fix while merging the two files.

I agree, I don't want a blanket ban on Threads. I know Meta is a horrible company, but we shouldn't decide in advance.

Honestly, I'd be very happy to be able to follow people on Threads through my privacy-respecting Mastodon/Lemmy app. Because, let's be serious: we're just a bunch of nerds here. If I want to follow famous people or companies, I'm going to find them on Meta's platforms, not here.

ActivityPub lets me follow those accounts without using Meta's apps, which are famously riddled with ads, trackers and whatnot.

I completely agree.

Another recent example has been the developer tool Insomnia. It went from open and free to riddled with trackers and paid-only features.

Luckily an open source fork, called Insomnium, has been created.

You cannot even pay $400 Adobe anymore. Now it's only on subscription

I agree, but trust me: Voyager is the best webapp I've ever tried. It truly feels like a native app.
