I am fairly certain it hasn't got anything to do with "confirming you're a human". and probably with getting more data into their pipeline for AI training...among other things that they do. like sell your shit to a 3rd party

Pretty sure Instagram also requires something similar in some cases. I tried to make an account recently to see an artist's full postings and it eventually asked me to verify I am a human by submitting a selfie picture. Abso-fucking not. It did "promise" they would delete it within 30 days...

yea, but BG3 didn't release in a complete state. With that said, Larian has delivered on their promise and that's really a good example of how a AA/AAA title can do early access in a good and healthy way.

honestly though, the game is a complete package AND it doesn't come with a bunch of fucking microtransactions/live-service/etc. etc. Gaming is the one area where I think we would all like to see our games be made the same way they were 10-15 years ago, instead of the bullshit from today.
