I'll admit I have a badge there myself to highlight the languages I work on. But some people are sure driving it beyond

I also think the addition of the achievement badges was a mistake, a coding platform doesn't need this kind of gamification

Nothing, people in research usually judge your work for what it is. In non blind peer review your work might not be looked at with as much interest or diligence, as you already lost some credibility

Honestly I don't think the UX is bad. Sure, a few things could be improved, but it's in a great overall state, especially considering its current growth rate
