Okay, and how do you plan to get them into the hearts and minds of around 50% of the population in the next 2 months, when the vast majority haven't even heard of her? It's not enough to have someone who could be a good president, you also need to get people to vote for them. If you want most of the population to vote for someone, they need to be aware of them as a viable option years beforehand.

I agree that the 2 choices are pawns of the rich, but even if every person who knew about Claudia voted for her, she wouldn't even get enough votes for her to make the news, much less win. We're talking about tens of millions of people voting in unison for an election win to happen in this country. At this stage in the game, there are only 2 candidates with that kind of draw power. If you want to focus on the 2028 election (assuming there is one, since there clearly won't be if Trump wins) to get a 3rd viable candidate on that ballot, that's a noble plan, but by now this election's potential winners are already down to 2.

Voting isn't about closing your eyes and saying "I want someone good to win!" It's about assessing which people might actually win, and voting for the one that best aligns with your views, however loosely. It's about strategy. If you want to change that, you need to build national presence in the name of your preferred candidate, and you need to start years ahead of the elections. Big changes don't happen at the ballot, they happen during the campaigning stage and beforehand. If your candidate isn't on the news every day leading up to the election, most voters won't even know they're an option.

I never once accused you of being a Nazi, nor did I allude to doing so. What I did accuse you of was being just like the German citizens during Nazi Germany, who closed their eyes and plugged their ears while their fellow human beings were being slaughtered.

You can admit to not having the power to stop a holocaust, but don't you dare think that you deserve the luxury of ignoring it. It needs to be on everyone's minds every day, if for no other reason than to be thankful that they were fortunate enough to not have been born into the group of people being arbitrarily culled.

The only reason you're not being murdered - wondering why nobody helped, nobody cared - is because you aren't among that group. The least you can do is continue to keep it in your mind while it's still happening.

Now this is my kind of meme; it actually gets into the details and complexity of the scenario it's discussing - while still making fun of it and keeping the meme feel - rather than just simplifying it to the point where it looks straightforward, killing most of the important discussion.

Honestly, I like the fact that I could hold and eat this while doing other things at a BBQ. It would also be useful if there's not a lot of seating for everyone.

I am a sucker for turning normally-sweet treats into savory ones, though - I turned my cinnamon rolls recipe into a cheesy rolls recipe a few years ago, and I consider it one of the best ideas I've ever had, so maybe it's just me.

This is like how American schools are authorizing unqualified people to be teachers to "resolve" the teacher shortage. It's not "empowering," it's a dangerous short-term solution that they're choosing over fixing the actual issue because that would require making actual positive change.

You're dancing around the basis of my argument. They're not counterattacking Hamas, they're killing Palestinians. It's like if you punched me in the face so I killed your innocent grandma and called it justice.

It's pretty sad. My mom fell into it hard around 2018, and back in 2020 when I stopped talking to her she was going on about how some guy in Montana was now the official ruler of the US because he filed an application to claim the United States flag during some obligatory grace period before the US sold it to the King of England. Mind you, this was before the queen died - she was convinced that the previous king was still alive and scheming to regain British ownership of the US, and that this Montana guy saved it at the last second. She was literally crying in joy.

Nah, I've got a family member who voted for trump and loves RatM. They honestly think the lyrics support conservative ideals, and advocate for violence against people who would change the country from the "good ol' days."

Maybe it's meant to be, but my parents taught me about deliberate ignorance, and I intend to use it.

I listened to his song before I knew anything about him, and I was into it until that point, but yeah, when you make a song about rich people exploiting you, but then spend half the song talking about the much less impactful issue of poor people wasting their government-issued money on junk food, your message stops being effective.

It's like stubbing your toe and breaking your arm at the same time, and complaining just as much about both.
