To be fair I got stressed from "A Pirate Looks at 40" when I was like...24.

Love that song though. Don't know if it would help your dad but whenever I get down about mortality I find comfort in this thought - Any small act of good can have a profound effect on the world long after you're gone, and knowing I might already have some unknown and silent legacy, selfishly, makes me feel better about leaving the world before accomplishing everything I'd hope to.

For further context, this is the new sandbox for world powers to play in. China and Russia have established strong spheres of influence all over Africa, and Niger has more or less been positioned as the linchpin for the US's regions with good relations. It comes down to access to resources, trade agreements, and tactical positions for military purposes.

No one is objectively the good guys in this sort of thing, but if you live in a NATO nation there are some decidedly "bad guys" that would be overjoyed to see the Junta stabilize as the leadership and kick out the remaining Western countries' troops and civilian workers

I really dig using "mook" as an insult, playfully or otherwise. It's somewhat normal in my tight circles but I get looks every time I'm in other groups when I drop a "what a mook"
