I am completely enamored with Inkbound right now. Its a turn-based tactical roguelite by the guys who made Monster Train. It has a similar feel to the combat from Marvels Midnight Suns, which I loved also. It just came out of earl access recently.

Oh and they took out all the microtransactions in the game during EA. People complained and they listened! So there are some mechanics that look like, for example, a season pass, but it's free and automatic now. I think that's pretty awesome.

Anyways, game is fun. Devs are moral. Works in linux. A++

The DLC's add a ton to the game. New storylines, new sectors (more space), new ships and buildings, new mechanics (in some), etc.

Do I think you need them all at the start? Probably not? I don't know how much things cost at this point since I've gotten all the DLC's when they came out since I got the game so it's hard for me to say whether it's "worth it" price wise. But just from a content and fun standpoint? They add a LOT to the game and are worth having for sure.

IMHO, the Split ships are the ones I prefer flying generally, so I would recommend that DLC if nothing else. But every faction has one or two ships that are best in class, it's balanced nicely that way. I just know that if I had to start the game from scratch without Split ships, I would be sad. :-D

Or just wait for the next hurricane. Not like conservative policy is doing much to help the climate change that's making them worse every year.

When did the game come out? I just went to check it out on my Xbox and it's no longer showing as "coming soon" on Gamepass, but it's also not on "Recently Added to Gamepass". In store there's no release date. Did something happen to the Xbox release?

You got a lot of good answers to this. I'll add mine:

A router is a device that bridges multiple physical networks (it will have at least two network interfaces) and directs traffic between them. It inspects every packet of data and decides which port to send it to.

In a typical home here in the US, one network is your ISP (connected to your cable modem, for example) and the other is your home computers, consoles and devices via wifi or direct connection (like a NAS drive, for example).

Generally you want a firewall to go along with your router. Instead of blindly passing all data to the correct network, it will decide whether it is allowed to pass or not based on a configured ruleset. Most consumer home wifi routers have a simple firewall built-in.

They also have other features like "load balancing" to prioritize certain data that is more sensitive to interruptions in the data flow (like gaming) over data that isn't (like video or audio), or "DHCP servers" to hand out IP addressed to devices on the network, or "VPN tunneling" to encrypt data, etc.

A linux-based computer is more than capable of performing all these tasks. If well-configured, it can do it much better than a consumer device, with better hardware and more reliability for less money over time (when taking reliability into account).

He probably loved the amount of "content" in Starfield.

What's "Twitter"?

Thanks, I'll look into it. For some reason I didn't think you could still get Xiaomi phones in the US.

Thx for the recommendation, I'll look into that one. I haven't had a Samsung phone since the Galaxy S2; I know people like them but they've always felt really overpriced to me. But given my kinda specific requirements, might be worth the premium.

For text to speech, I'm just using the Android built-in accessibility screen reader. It puts a little button on the bottom by the tile button and I can use it to read anything on the screen. Kinda sucks that I can't change the voice to a male one, but I'm used to it at this point.

Counting down the days until Armored Core 6...

Nova Drift is one of my favorite rogue-likes, highly recommended. Check out the youtube channel "Ultra C" for a ton of different rogue-likes.

I've been meaning to try it out, it's on GamePass, but I worry that it's the kind of game that takes a lot of brainpower to "solve" while also requiring a lot of skill. I can do one or the other but both at once stresses me out! lol
