I don’t know if you noticed this but some really big companies with high stock valuations are only existing because investors poured tons of capital into them to subsidize the service.

Exactly, they PAID MONEY to make it work. No they don't make the money back and depend on outside capital, but they are still paying their employees (not enough) and suppliers, etc.

Yeah I knew someone was going to respond to my rhetorical "I have no idea" and explain it like I actually care. It's like saying I have no idea why people buy Microsoft or use Twitter despite them being despicable. Obviously there are lot of things about them that a lot of people like. Obviously not everyone knows about all the despicable things these companies have done and continue to do. Obviously not everyone would care enough to stop using them even if they did know.

But it still frustrates me. I wish the world was a place where companies like VW couldn't possibly exist because their own employees would never let them do the things they did, much less their customers or the regulators who are supposed to protect us despite ourselves. But, alas, we do not. And I have no idea why. (<--- Rhetorical! Nobody has to try to explain why.)

Yeah, probably not my cuppa tea, but I will keep an eye on it. Space ships blowing each other up has potential, even if it's not my favorite style of said activity.

And I bet it releases before Star Citizen for a fraction of the price!

The best way to avoid your ISP spying is to use a VPN. It encrypts all the data before your ISP ever sees the data so they can't spy on you. I use Private Internet Access but I recommend doing some research and finding one that's good in your country.

I'm not sure why you had an issue with just changing your DNS. Did you change it in the DHCP settings or somewhere else?

Regardless, just to be clear, changing your DNS won't prevent your ISP from spying on you. Many of the big DNS providers like Google will absolutely spy on you through your DNS calls so I do think it's a good idea to use a better DNS. I personally use AdGuard DNS, which has a built in ad blocker that works really well.

Literally both games that came out on other consoles that the PS5 so you don't actually need a PS5 to play either of them.

Yeah and the new reworked Berserker cyberware to go with it! Gorilla Arms with the new relic perks to make them explode people from punching too hard... tempting indeed!

As another downside, when I was using PiHole, I would get random things not working like random Xbox functions. You have to be really on top of the configuration to catch all the weird cases like that.

Ironically, switching to AdGuard DNS solved all that for me while providing the same network-level protection. And it works on my phone too. Shame OP isn't into it. I think it's an amazing product, especially considering the price (free FTW).

Weird, I've never had it turn off on me. I'm using the free DNS without using an app or anything so there's no communication from them ever... so I haven't experience any monetization stuff at all.

I feel like we're talking about completely different things with how different our experiences are. How bizzare!

I tried the V11 and the S18 when they first came out and decided to buy an S18. Love it, though really I don't think you can go wrong with either (hardware issues notwithstanding). Congrats!

I've heard nothing but good things about Celeste. It's really not my style of game but I'll definitely be trying it out when it hits Game Pass.

The one thing TFT has going for it over LoL is that it's not s team game so it's SIGNIFICANTLY less toxic.
