Rule of thumb: if a headline is a yes or no question, the answer is always no.

Windows was still DOS under the hood for a long time. Win 98 was Win 95. Win 8 was Win 7. This is nothing new for MS.

In case we needed yet another reason to avoid that company. I have no idea why they're so successful despite being absolutely despicable.

LoL is the poster child for toxic community. The game is fantastic but it's really not worth playing because the other people ruin the fun.

It really only takes one person to ruin a match and you're always playing with 9 other people (in the "main" game mode). Because of the way ranking work, leaving early because of a troll actually punishes you so you are incentivized to stay in a game that you're not enjoying. It makes people cranky and they tend to take it out on internet strangers.

And for some reason, only in LoL do they seem to feel free to use the most despicable language you can imagine.

Anyways, there are other games in the same genre if you want to try them. DOTA2 is the obvious one, though I personally think it's a worse game than LoL. The Blizzard one was really good but it was shut down IIRC.

Weird how reading the article will sometimes give more information than just reading the headline, isn't it?

It was absolutely the latter. And I absolutely would sue if I didn't have serious health issues (hello, cancer!) to deal with instead. It takes a lot of time and effort to deal with something like that, and that's just not in the cards right now.

The reviews so far have been fairly positive. I'm pretty eager to jump in to 2.0 tomorrow. I'll have 5 days to get my new character ready for PL!

I just finished a playthrough a couple weeks ago with a Sandevistan+Katana build, which was SUPER fun! I was planning on going Stealth Netrunner for this play through but after seeing all the changes to the existing systems, I am tempted to go Sandy+Sword again. But I will probably control my urges and focus on Stealth to complement the "spy thriller" story of PL.

To be fair, last I checked, commondreams was so far to the left, they fell right off the flat earth. I consider myself pretty progressive and a lot of the stuff I saw from that site made me roll my eyes and go "this is where people get those crazy ideas about progressives having crazy ideas!"

Anyways, it's been a few years since I paid any attention to them so maybe they're not so cringe anymore.

It's been bugging me in BG3. Mostly because it takes a while to load and when it's finally loaded, I have to press a button then WAIT AGAIN for a stupid animation before getting to the main menu so I can then load some more.

Gimme a command line to just automatically "Continue" please. The pretty animtions and menu were fun at first. Now I just want to get back to my brain parasites as quickly as possible. I'm sure that has nothing to do with my brain parasites.

I'm surprised nobody else is playing Remnant 2. It just came out and it's pretty damn fun.

They called the original "Dark Souls with guns" and it's definitely that sort of game in the sequel. But it's not as punishing as a typical souls-like since there's no death penalty. It's perfect for my preferences since I hate the "losing all your money when you die" thing in Elden Ring.

Apparently it's very fun in co-op but I have been playing solo so I can't speak to that.

At only $50, it's a pretty solid recommendation from me if "dark souls with guns" piques your curiosity even a little. AA title with no jank and I've only seen a single bug so far in my playing on XSX.
