I feel like this article explains it in a way that reveals a bit more of the harsh reality, but still supports your claim of Muslim nations' support of China's policies. It's also from Medium.

https://medium.com/the-diplomatic-pouch/analysis-why-muslim-countries-in-the-middle-east-support-chinese-atrocities-in-xinjiang-f4ec7d4bea48

They write plainly about the support being due to economic ties, fractured Muslim subdivisions, and "agreeing as a way to survive."

At this point our source is the same and still contradicts itself.

Again, I'll concede since I don't have a more credible answer.

Wow I'm discovering we're more alike by the second. I'm certainly in my personal journey of discovering truth beneath the corporate fed slop. I unsubscribed to NYT in 2017.

I have thought for years that many people bounce their minds between the left and right extremes only to falsely convince themselves the middle must be the reasonable place to be when in fact the truth or ethics are on a different spectrum entirely.

I'm thankful my brain has a natural tendency to know logic and morality that aides my search, but you're right. It's questioning everything from the beginning just to have a starting picture. Propaganda from childhood forward. History written by the victors.

Manufactured consent is the hot topic amongst some of my friends at the moment. We've abandoned all "sides" in US politics searching for a solution to the ever strengthening tyranny of evil.

Thank you for sharing these sources and information. I'll happily research further.

Your insults only diminish any credibility you had. It's the Redditors who hide behind their anonymity to speak so poorly towards another human being.

I don't understand your link. It just lists open source AI models which are.. free? And about creating entertainment?

I'm not sure if that plays into the AI warfare dominance the US is building and is not open source.

I know China dominates energy sustainability. Will they go nuclear to stay ahead of the US? I think that's the US response is basically entire nuclear plants dedicated to specific companies like Microsoft and Google.

Do you have sources for "the US has no rare earths supplies and can't make better chips?"

I'm happy to be taught honestly. My ego is not about winning an argument here.

My initial argument is still that: both systems suck and the people of earth deserve better!

No attempt at explaining yourself or providing evidence is the easiest win of my life. Thanks for playing. Next...

This is exactly why we need a world that gives every person a chance to rise to their potential. The number of people with zero chance to solve the universe is ridiculously high. The way the world operates currently... Heaven on earth, while possible, has been stolen by the would wage war or hoard wealth in highly inefficient ways.

Resigning is not enough. It's actually breaking the oath you take to protect Americans. What's with these worthless military officers?

I once discovered a sociology equation that makes anyone appear as a prophet.

You start by make opposing claims under different entities.

Example: Under a red avatar, claim Trumps wins the election. Under a blue avatar, claim Trump losses. Then, do the same thing for tons of topics. Stocks go up, war in Iran, who wins, etc. Eventually, with enough predictions you may have convinced a pool of people that you can predict the future. Even if the pool goes from 10 million to 2,000 over time. Imagine what having a pool of 2,000 people who think you are omnipotent can do for you.

That being said, Jiang's predictions have been wildly correct on the topics I listed above. It would take a new precedent of being incorrect to challenge his value. I don't know that much about him, but that's already happened. How many predictions were wrong?

Either way, who cares? Only the modern idiot takes YouTube, Twitter, Reddit and even Lemmy as a reputable source for anything substantial. Outside the thought experiment: "what if this is true? Then..." these posts are entertainment at best.

Getting informed in the modern age looks like taking leads from anywhere and doing independent research. For example, you can email scientists who write papers. Ask them directly. The ones I've engaged are usually eager to respond. But starting with a scientific paper with multiple sources and peer agreed conclusions.. that's the bare minimum.

To have a true independent thought, you must immerse in the facts and think hard on something.

If you just listen to podcasts or watch YouTube, or at worst... just collect headlines. You honestly shouldn't share your opinion at all.

Now that's a cool thesis statement ;)

When I heard about neuralink first, I went down the rabbit hole of how communication could evolve beyond body language, speech, and reading/writing. Conveying emotion directly sounds incredible, especially when considering the visuals and other potential sensory information possibly transmitted.

Though, there are probably some awful discoveries about humans to be had even with the best intentions. Still I'm a proponent of truth over comfort and I hope your idea can be realized.

Just don't be shocked when average people have a highlight reel of primal sexual thoughts on repeat, totally superficial programming or constant crippling quiet anxiety.

We often present in a way that society approves of or in a way that engages society in a beneficial way to us. The inner thoughts aside. To reveal that, could change the perspective on even loved ones.

I'm implying that most of the issues of the world are from corporations and billionaires working with the government of each major nation to hoard wealth.

All of our resources should be spent on reducing government power across the globe and instilling the will of the people.

Stuff like this is not relevant in those pursuits. Taxes, healthcare, peace, housing, individual rights... frankly anything outside of those topics should be seen as leisure. Which some time should be allotted for, of course.

I also simply take offense anytime people tell others what to think.

Nothing personal. Just my two cents.

[-] StonksDiff13@lemmy.today -5 points 3 weeks ago

Wth kind of waste of resources is this crap? With the argument: think good thoughts? Might want to do a self examination first before recommending to others...
