President Joe Biden’s team is increasingly taking extraordinary steps to minimize disruptions from pro-Palestinian protests at his events by making them smaller, withholding their precise locations from the media and the public until he arrives, avoiding college campuses and, in at least one instance, considering hiring a private company to vet attendees.

First of all, this if for his campaign. Not Whitehouse briefings. At least the Dems at least treat the two differently.

Secondly, this is for disruptions to the campaign events, which you would expect it's the campaign job to control the narrative if events. It's one thing to say he's not listening, it's another to suggest they are ignoring it.

You guys do know Biden officially sent his top aides to Michigan to meet the American Muslim community, only to rejected a meeting by them? Look, I am all for not killing innocent, but if some are going to behave "it's my way or no deal" without even considering any discussion, that's just extremism talking.

If you don't know, US support to Israel is ridiculous over weighted. Part post WW2 reimagined world order, part middle east power projection, and part protecting religious holy land. For the past 20 years, I was always surprised how taboo it was to dare criticize Israel in US politics and media. There is a lot of inertia and vague "obligation" to support the survivors of Holocaust, no questions asked. Because the Jewish people survived the Nazi, and we fight Nazi. Simple, morally simple.

Ironically, the Nazi of today are at the fronts of Ukraine and they are in the US, but we ignore acknowledging the world has changed, and instead focus on "antisemitism" debate which I think is a bit out of fashion. Dare I say, the Israel government is walking down the extreme right, nationalism path. Acting in ways their people's history were so vehemently against.

And that's the crux of it. Muslim community are ignoring or saying you don't get credit for something happened a century ago, so today, Israel acting the bully when they can do so much better. While US and the West have ingrained and championed the saving of Jewish (from Nazi) was the right thing, why wouldn't we keep saving. And we all know how hard it is to change a long held belief.

Full disclosure, what I see as acceptable end game is US finally start winding down military support to Israel, even if we're are still publicly supporting them. Neither side likes that.

tl;dr - op news is about maintaining order at campaign events, headline is click-baity

tl;dr2 - sidetracked, the issue is about Israeli and Palestinine, which have their own perspective not easily changed.

Too bad US is a republic, not a democracy. The founding fathers never intended it. Right guys? /s

Not sorry. You need book smart and street smart to manage a university. You willingly walked into a PR trap and blunted the answer on content and timing. No matter how much prestige you have, it won't save you.

We live in a world of human behaviors, not one of institutional rigor.

First bullet from the link.

Women make up more than half of the U.S. population, and control or influence 85% of consumer spending

No. Just flat out no. Statistically, if the norm is to start at 50%, then the quoted number is way too much deviation to be statistically improbable. It does not pass the smell test.

Then I scrolled further down. Oh boy, that website is a misinformation gift box.

Women account for 85% of all consumer purchases:
91% New Homes
66% PCs
92% Vacations
80% Healthcare
65% New Cars
89% Bank Accounts
93% Food
93% OTC Pharmaceuticals

I'm sorry, those assertion are just impossible. New home of $300k - $700k is purchase by women, alone? I stopped thinking after this and encourage all to stop believing something just because they "cited" their sources.

Only source that is trust worthy is US BLS, and this is the quote from the website.

Approximately 40% of U.S. working women now out-earn their husband.

Only relevant data point I can find is from https://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/womens-databook/2022/home.htm

In 2021, women who worked full time in wage and salary jobs had median usual weekly earnings of $912, which represented 83.1 percent of men’s median weekly earnings ($1,097).

This is the usual "80 cents for a 1.00 dollar" that has been widely tracked for the last decade, between women and men workers. This tells me the girls power link is misleading on key statistics. As a personal note, the government never refers to "wife" or "husband", so that immediate red flag this number was cherry picked and derived.

TL;DR - key figures shown on girls power marketing website does not pass smell test. Their "citing" is vague. Do not trust.

My opinion, websites like these hurt equality movement.

That's more due to lack of women rights and cultural of discrimination. There is little resources and alternative for many of the women in arranged marriage. Just because cultural and societal road blocks married prevent divorce, doesn't mean it's a better.

The marriage assumptions has been debunked as linking to happiness. You should just look directly at human rights indexes and happiness survey instead.

Unless your whole ideology was people must marry, then that's a different discussion.

If you're the game director and had so little sway to the producers /publishers, then you're nothing but a "yes man" figure head. Maybe go back to dev, the executive role isn't for you.

Otherwise, the only excuse is you initiated all these changes and you are completely out of touch with your customers.

Isn't timing of this recording when company was at 50 people? Think they haven't gotten to full HR services yet, just HR for payroll and admin. Linus and Yvonne probablyb still handled staff issues directly. Not ideal, but not unexpected.

With Elden Ring last year and TotK and BG3 now, I'm starting to feel that most Western studios, especially American ones, are just dead and run by parasitic C tier movie executives. Always rehashing the exact same IP / formula for each game, and some how doing a crappy job at that, while charging higher and higher price.

Gamers really need to be better consumers as well, and learn to detach ourselves from brand/studio loyalty. Your gaming time is highly desirable, don't sell it cheaply.

The lesson to take away is that AAA != Good game. Never pre order. Play demo, beta. Only play if you're time is respected.

Artificially designed grinds, limitations, time gates should be auto no buy.
