You mean they know exactly what the problem but choose bury their heads in the sand.

Actually, those moutaintops would have eroded and gone after 4 billion years.

This made more sense than the opening of Prometheus.

"Pollution" is just a natural process of excretion. One could say that the oxidation of earth is cyanobacteria "polluting" their oxygen waste. But I guess how humans pollute the earth is far weirder than anything and quicker than ever experienced.

This would make a good Alien movie. We'll call it-- Alienception!

They stole our data to train AI. So, if in the future that robots displaced the vast majority of jobs, then tax the robots to fund UBI.

It is kinda like with Martin Luther King Jr. and Fred Hampton. It is very sus that they are killed once they started organising for class solidarity, regardless of colour, and speaking about wealth inequality.

AOC reminding Americans how to be brave. Penny auctions were a thing, which implied Americans used to be able to stand up to corrupt oligarchs and monied interests. Where is that solidarity and sentiment now? Do Americans need to be poor again altogether in order to rise up?

According to Bloomberg, names like Mark Zuckerberg, Safra Catz, and Jamie Dimon all dumped massive blocks of stock while prices were still high. By the time Trump rolled out new tariffs on April 2, tech stocks had already started bleeding. Every one of those early sellers dodged a bullet, and the timing is loud as hell.

Executives sold billions as Trump’s tariffs loomed

The first quarter wasn’t quiet. Trump’s team hinted at sweeping tariffs leading up to April 2, a day he branded as “Liberation Day.” That threat shook investors. By the time the announcement dropped, billions had already been erased from global markets. The tech world felt it the hardest. Elon Musk reportedly lost $129 billion this year as stocks tied to phones, chips, and software kept slipping. A few billionaires are already buying the dip, but plenty have already made their exit.

There is more to life you know? When will liberals learn.

Edit: I changed the title so that people will understand what I am getting at. It is important to realise that economic anxiety trumps other concerns, especially in the growing wealth inequality and the overt shows of oligarchic rule. As Franklin Roosevelt said: People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

As everyone knows, Reddit is cannibalising itself and the longer time goes on, the users will have deleted their accounts and/or migrated to somewhere else, or they will simply forget about their accounts and log-in details.

Why would they want to win anyway? When they are already winning from so much corporate donations???!!!

I am aware of the first-past-the-post system, but UK and Canada also have the same but their third parties gain national/federal seats.

In the US, it's always either Democrats or Republicans. There are third parties on state and county level but never succeed on the national level. How come? Is the electoral college somehow impeding third parties?

It is worth mentioning that when the first stuffed sample of platypus was sent to Britain, the scientists thought it is a joke.

Ignore the us vs them narrative that tend to dominate the news on migration and look at the bigger picture:

MIGRATION WILL ONLY GET WORSE WITH HUMAN-INDUCED CLIMATE CHANGE

I saw plenty of kintsugi kits available in my area (to those who do not know what kintsugi is, it is the art of fixing broken ceramic/pottery items using lacquer). However, I do not know if the quality is good for the price presented by these shops. Could anyone knowledgeable or experienced in kintsugi give some tips? I'd appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can't count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with handicap features, and also to find Easter eggs. Speaking of Easter eggs, you'd lose a number of hours exploring every nook and cranny finding them!

I was watching a video on Willem Dafoe on his iconic roles, and his passion to craft and life, and positivity, exudes from him immensely. In that video, I am surprised he remembers from which of his movies the lines came from. It made me love him more as an actor because he loves life and his job.

But then during the interview, I remembered too when I watched Kevin Spacey's interview before, admiring him and it turned out he is a creep. I was telling to myself about Willem Dafoe "please don't be a creep, please don't be a creep."

Willem seems like a genuinely nice guy though but I hope I don't get proven wrong!

Edit: clarified the title

I only realised it later that many people have a transactional view of life. They think everything single activity must have a purpose. And while they not actively seek it, at the back of their minds they expect some sort reward. Like, the dude who scoffed the guy learning to play flute probably only wants to learn new skills if it impresses others, like a girl or something.

Where is the love for Chrisjen Avasarala? The UN General Secretary ~~Queen of the Earth~~ from The Expanse lore? The Space Iron Lady!

I admire her more than other traditional depiction of bad ass action stars who are either a man or a woman. I realised I admire mental acuity more than raw strength. Avasarala is Machiavellian but a pragmatist, and ready to get her hands dirty if needs be in spite of her privileged upbringing. Her main drawbacks though is that she is too willing to get her hands dirty, especially at the first episode when she personally oversaw the torture of a Belter in a blacksite. She was also willing to use her family image to gain political sympathy. But one could argue it's for the greater good, not that I am excusing both of her egregious and questionable actions. As I said, she is a pragmatist after all and looks at the bigger picture and have long term scope. She was right about slowly colonising the New Worlds. Avasarala is an anti-hero but she's right in more ways than none.
