As long as games keep getting cracked this drama is just entertainment. I'm on Empress' telegram and it's been entertaining to watch their descent into madness.

So far they've opened the main channel followed by others trying to create an empress community, started a cult charging people $1000 to join (teaching the most advanced and supernatural facts humanity cannot imagine or comprehend according to them), started drama with fitgirl, is staunchly and VERY vocally anti-trans, sells AI artwork, regularly goes off on 1337x and reddit, and lastly I saw the reply to this via their channel which is below: "To sKIDrow:

what a SORRY state of madness to see you in after i raped you... but worry not, because next time its gonna be HARDER"

I wonder what is going to happen next.

Oof. Losing 5% of your paid subscribers in a day is nothing to scoff at. I understand they weren't exactly trending upwards prior to this either.

Covid was also a top fatality result of police for a while there. Just showcasing their amazing decision making skills as they refuse to get vaccinated.

Clearly they represent the best of the best there.

So the US has no influence on the internet or social media? In denial much?

Realize here my argument is that the US is some exceptional example of a country, the literal definition of exceptionalism, but there is enough influence for the general internet population to understand what a foot is. Just like how I know what a stone is without the UK being some exceptional utopia. If someone says they weight 12 stone I convert in my head and go about my day.

But hey. this all started when someone said 15m2 was larger than a parking spot. I said no and showed my work. The units I used were irrelevant. This whole tangent is your own pedantry.

EDIT: For those curious, Mr_Blott deleted his reply that called my comment on the US having an influence on the internet US exceptionalism, and that should have been lost in the migration.

I just went to the site to verify. Goto login, and to the left of the user and password box there is a register link. Select torrent download and complete it from there.

The foot isn't an SI unit, but the US influence on the internet and social media as a whole means it isn't some obscure unheard of unit. Besides, the foot has been defined by SI units for a while now, and the survey foot being done away with makes it publically official. It's just a conversion factor.

Then again being that pedantic is totally a reddit thing, so it's good to see that hasn't been lost in the migration.

15m^2 is 5mX3m. Or ~9ft by ~15ft. Parking spots in the US are 8.5ft by 18ft.

https://asphaltindustrial.com/blogs/asphalt-industrial-blog/parking-space-dimension-guide#:~:text=The%20standard%20parking%20space%20that,8%20%C2%BD%20feet%20in%20width.

So actually smaller than a parking spot.

For reference, a honda civic is 6ft wide by 16ft.

The company I work for has a different strategy. They separated when reviews, and therefore raises and bonuses are given from the upper management to the lower level staff. Lower staff go first. When it comes time for lower staff raises and bonuses there's talk of 'tightening belts' and 'bracing for a recession' during communication meetings. A few months later when it's time for upper management it's 'Record profits!'.

Of course the lower level staff are given bonuses and raises based on those poor projections, while upper management gets theirs based on record profits.

If you keep your long term lower staff happy with very low raises and bonuses you not only save the money for your upper management in the short term, but also ensure that long term even a return to normal raises saves them money overall.

This is why I remind my coworkers that it is federally protected to share your wage and discuss it. They only get away with this if the long timers don't speak with the new hires and realize how badly they're being shafted.

Lifted trucks. My assurance goes up 10x if they have rims and tires meant for the road.

Just because something is worse somewhere else doesn't mean you should be happy when things only get slightly worse where you are. They are angry because not only they are historically againt pension reforms, and the way the government forced through the bill by bypassing parliament in a legal method, but one that shows they are really just forcing this down despite popular opinion being very, very against it.
