And you figure that memes like this might change their minds? Assuming this is actually the biggest problem facing Democrats in this election, shaming voters is not the right strategy.

While I agree this is definitely a big issue

Is it though? Your sampling is limited to friends who you say are no longer "this way". If your sample is sufficient evidence that it was a problem, then it's sufficient evidence that it's no longer a problem.

In reality, polls have shown progressives to be the most reliable voters in the country. Beyond that, they are the most involved in volunteering their time for Democratic campaigns.

There is nothing wrong with getting the message out that voting for Democrats is critical to everything the left might hope to achieve. However, framing the debate in a way that blames the left for the failings of liberal centrists is far more likely to push some people in the wrong direction. It's not just unfair and unproductive, it's anti-productive.

There is a reason that when the Democratic establishment doesn't push this message that right wing trolls like OP do it for them.

Did someone ask all men to apologize for something?

I read Chaim Potok's The Chosen in highschool, so I know everything about Israel. I don't need to do the tourist thing.

It might be a schtick, but their public facade never entirely detached from their actual identity. Also, isn't that what everyone does to some extent?

It works the same for capitalism. I'm in the camp that says neither pure capitalism nor pure communism are systems that can realistically exist at all. In one system, the government usurps the power of capital and in the other capital usurps the power of government. They both end up totalitarian by different paths.

I'm libertarian, but that gets confusing since in America the right wing has twisted the definition beyond recognition. Libertarianism started as a left wing philosophy that uses the power of government and democracy to protect individual freedom from both government and capitalist tyranny.

How will women ever get the right to vote without the right to vote? If that can be achieved, I think there are ways to ditch FPTP.

The Democratic establishment and their political consultants are pretty much the same exact group. It's a revolving door system to distribute campaign donations. DNC members move in and out of the various campaign organizations, consultancies, and government positions.

Campaign money gets spent on consultants who take a cut and spend most of the rest on ineffective television adds. The primary purpose of the adds is not to reach voters, but to purchase the loyalty of broadcasters who will then cooperate with campaigns. That's why they have been so slow to shift to the Internet, even though it provides the most bang for the buck. Leverage over broadcasters is crucial in maintaining a news blackout for progressive candidates.

How many nukes does the US have?

I have been in total agreement about the fucked up position that the Palestinian conflict puts Biden in, but cutting funding to UNRWA based on Israel's suspect claims was something that I don't see how I can justify.

That's fair, but even in that there is a whole lot that automation can do to address the ratio of elderly to caregivers. Japan is ahead of the curve on population decline, and they are not exactly fond of immigrants. That has been a huge driver behind the development of technologies for elder care.

If POTUS and and intern represent an iffy power balance, what does an actual power imbalance look like? Even in this post, you are still minimizing his culpability. And sure, you are spot on about those Republicans, but that's irrelevant to the point you responded to.

Yes, the overarching consensus among establishment friendly Democrats has been to completely ignore what we learned about Bill Clinton in that incident. Sure, leave him in office if the Republican option is worse (and they always are), but why is he still an influential member of the Democratic establishment? Why is he still a highly sought after speaker at Democratic party events? And yeah, I actually do recall arguing with his supporters on Reddit about whether this incident was even a stain on his character. Absolute hypocrisy.
