You guys all spout the same platitudes constantly and ignore every reality based argument. It's not exactly opaque (or interesting).

Agreed. It's pretty telling that none of these corporations would accept an open ended arbitration clause in their dealings with any other corporation.

That's right wing gaslighting.

This isn't necessarily dementia

It's almost certainly not dementia. He's definitely in mental decline, and that is more than sufficient to explain what we've seen.

Fascism or fascism lite. I'll vote for fascism lite, but I have a hard time building up moral outrage for people who just check out. Biden's tone-deaf backing of the protest crackdown rhetoric really pushed me over the edge. Biden is not trying to win, he's just hoping Trump continues to implode, and I really hope he's right.

I would argue that post scarcity is something that we could actually have today if it were a priority. Most of the work people do today is entirely unnecessary. What's left could mostly be automated if that were a priority. Instead, what we see is consumer demand expanding to demand more and more stuff, and the majority of the workforce being employed in scams to help their employer collect power coupons.

Term limits only work if the limits were applied to big money donors. Otherwise, they just end up putting money even more in control.

So we default to assuming prejudice? One of the groups she seriously underperforms with are blacks, and specifically young blacks. Do you think it's the color of her skin, or the number of young blacks she incarcerated that drives that?

But let's assume the worst and say that she is massively disliked because of race and gender prejudice. If the country is really in that state and a black woman is unelectable, then why would we run a black woman? Are black women in America well served by electing Trump again? I would personally love to see a black woman as president, but do we risk the country to get there?

Fortunately, I don't think this is the case but, if it were, I don't think it's all that favorable an argument for her candidacy. If someone is incapable of winning, then we shouldn't be nominating them.

What was the reason that most voters gave in exit polls for voting for Biden instead of Bernie? Do you know? It was about perceived electability. Bernie and Biden polled nearly identically against Trump, but the media constantly harped on the same false claims you are making here. Beating Trump was Democratic voter's top priority, and the media relentlessly claimed that Biden was the "safe" candidate, with zero evidence to base it on except for opinions within the establishment bubble. (The same bubble that thought Hillary was a shoe-in.) That is not something that would have been a factor in the general election at all. When voters were asked who's policies they preferred, Bernie was the clear favorite.

Trump and his campaign were constantly sending mixed messages about whom he would rather face. There is no clear indication of what they really thought. More than anything, Trump wanted division among Democrats. As always, the Republican strategy was to suppress the vote.

His incumbency is likely to be a weight around his neck. When was the last time we had a Democratic candidate who polled worse than a Republican among Hispanics and under-35 voters? I really hope you don't have to eat your words.

Because conservatives have always been insane right-wing "reformists".
