This wasn't true about Biden. The establishment didn't care who won that primary, as long as it wasn't Bernie. I think Harris was their first choice, but they flipped to Biden when she tanked.

I am so damn tired of the bad guys winning. Voters in this country are ignorant as fuck so money beats all.

Let's try the more recent history again.

Obama ran on "hope" but, more importantly ,"change" and won in a landslide. Then he governed from the center as a status quo technocrat. He lost a Democratic super majority and almost the presidency to a slice of white bread.

Hillary Clinton was the most establishment centrist candidate the Democrats could have possibly run. Her campaign thought they could sweep the country by choosing a radical clown for the Republican opponent. They helped the Trump campaign get free media attention to win the primary, then they lost to the clown.

After 4 years of the clown, the country would have elected a ham sandwich. Even so, it was looking a bit close, so Biden did what most Democrats do in a close election and leaned left, almost sounding like Bernie lite at times. You can chart his popularity through his presidency and every uptick coincides with a move to the left, and every downtick with a move to the right.

It's not about the money, it's about the power it gives them over everyone else. There is no appreciable difference between the life of someone with a billion dollars and someone with ten billion. However, making entire nations bend to their will and give them even more money is a pleasure of it's own. It makes their tiny little peckers stand up just a little bit straighter.

The majority of Palestinian deaths came after the last ceasefire. The UN Security Council demanded another ceasefire exactly like the armchair diplomats demanded, and yet it made no difference at all. At what point do people realize that foreign policy is complex as fuck and that knee jerk solutions, however well intended, are not the real answer?

We don't need a ceasefire, we need a peace. That requires careful application of power and influence across multiple warring cultures with a crazy web of often contradictory alegences. That's the goal that the Biden administration has been working towards, and abandoning Israel would be a disaster for everyone.

With or without US support, Israel can destroy Gaza. Israel has twice the population of Palestine, is far better armed already, and their people are better educated and have access to food and medicine. Israel also has a right wing Prime Minister who's entire political image is based on anti-Palestinian racism. Throw in the fact that he might face trial as soon as he leaves office, and it becomes clear he is not backing down.

The new shipments recently announced are for some time in 2026 at the earliest. They are of no assistance to Israel until then and, until that time, they are leverage.

I make no defense for Israel's actions in this conflict, the illegal settlements, or the apartide system they benefit from. I also disagree with a whole lot about the Biden administration's response to this conflict, and to the protests within the US. However, it's a far more complicated situation than many understand. People should also keep in mind that foreign policy strategies often collapse if talked about publicly.

I have a hunch that "working" would not exactly be a top priority.

He's never even been all that funny. I've always seen his entire shtick as making fun of bad comedians through imitation.

Biden has also been way better than Obama on policy, which I really didn't expect from his record in Congress. Obama's charisma has really blinded a lot of people to the deep flaws of his administration.

It's hardly just the Biden administration. Who exactly says there is a war with Iran? Iran certainly doesn't say so. Not every military action requires or results in war.

The only "war" I've heard declared is Israel declaring war on Hamas, and that stretches the definition since Hamas isn't even a country.

There are socialists, and then there is a fairly new wave of terminally online toxic assholes borrowing socialist rhetoric.

There is a difference between activism and empty virtue signaling. A huge portion of the online left is more interested in letting everyone know how pissed off they are than actually making the cultural gains necessary to improve anything.

If they are anti-trans then the "libertarian" schtick is just obfuscation and authoritarian virtue signaling.
