That's an absolutely valid point. I'm not American but in Ireland we get the same "foreigners are stealing our jobs" bullshit. I work in a meat processing plant. Most Irish new starts don't last the first week.

What jobs are they stealing? Jobs we won't do? We need immigrants, we aren't far away from a declining population. I don't understand how people thing that's an issue when our entire economy is propped up on migrant workers.

I used to unload trucks in an absolute madhouse.

The heat in the back of the transparent roofed trailers in summer was a nightmare so some of the lads would strip down to their boxers then pop their boots and high vis back on. We eventually got cameras installed pointing down the trailers and we're suddenly required to be fully clothed at all times. Our shift lead took particular offense to this and flashed his cock at the camera whilst shouting obscenities. He didn't come back to work the next day.

We had 4 guys sacked for not only opening customers parcels but for taking fireworks out of said parcel and taping them to Frisbees which they then threw to each other. One inevitably went off in one fella's hand. He eventually managed to sue for unfair dismissal somehow.

Another guy was caught trying to sneak a slab of wine out to his car.

I lived in tents for the better part of a year. I'd set up anywhere with a bit of cover that wasn't frequently walked through. Woods mostly.

I can't use my banking app on lineage and those wonderful folk at the bank have made it so that you cant confirm online purchases without.

I'm a very small sample size being one guy who works in a dog food factory. But we absolutely do not test our products on humans. All our meat products are marked not for human consumption.

The seasonings and what have you are often tested by the npd crowd but I can't imagine a scenario where anyone would actually try the finished product.

Ugh. I got one of them recently and clicking on it and hitting report as spam apparently registers as me having interacted with the email so I have to do the security course again.

I'd never really considered that people might not have seen coal burn.

In Ireland both coal and turf are still fairly common as the primary method of heating. That said they are "trying" to phase it out.

IRC is where it's at. In the many years I've been using it to download books there's only been a handful of books I've been unable to find.

I live in Ireland and was fairly slow to adapt to this cashless mularkey but my mind was blown when visiting Germany how many places were cash only.

I wouldn't necessarily say shills. I can't say I know the ins and outs of app development but I'm sure it could come about that a particular dev doesn't have the know how or capital to start a new project.

What I do know is that I've worked for companies who's morals I don't approve of to make ends meet.
