I'm jealous you got to read Blood Music in high school. Though Chrysalids was also great and turned me into a long time sci-fi fan. Despite the horribly hypocritical ending.

I recently downsized from 2 to 1. NGL, I miss the second in some circumstances, but I also don't miss the inclination to have YouTube or Netflix constantly open if I'm not using the second for anything else.

Yes! Self-employed, four-day work weeks, 4-6 hours a day. Enough money to be comfortable and to put some away for later. I have to clean the place by myself on that weekday off, but that's fine. Cathartic even.

Or when you have a problem that seems adjacent to another problem that many people have, but their solution doesn't work for your niche case.

Haha! So true. The first video I ever downloaded was a fansubbed Cowboy Bebop episode sometime around 2000.

One of my buddies is in his fifties. He's been an avid reader his entire life. He pronounces "chasm" with the ch of "chicken" no matter how much we correct him. I've known him long enough for that word to actually have shown up in conversation a not-insignificant number of times.

I've spent some time in both countries. Thailand is Thailand for women, too. More so than Italy as far as I can tell.

As a hobbyist musician and coder: Csound. Cubic spline curves make particularly interesting noise.

I've noticed YouTube acting funny in Firefox, too. Full-screen no longer works on our Galaxy Tab A using Firefox with ublock. On my PC, YouTube seems to randomly switch audio devices to output to. Neither of those problems exist in Chrome or the YouTube app. They didn't exist in Firefox either until recently. Almost like it's intentional...

Arcades rule and I'm so glad they're still a thing here in Korea.

Both franchises are apt to hand-wave science, so who knows? How does a warp drive compare to a hyperdrive? Blasters to phasers? Thermo detonators to photon torpedoes? Star Wars doesn't seem to have matter/energy manipulation like replicators and transporters, though, so Trek has an edge there.

Haha! I didn't think it was possible for me to want them less, but here we are.
