They died well before mobile formatting was a concern. I suppose other aspect ratios were getting more popular then. That and the security issues the other poster mentioned probably contributed.
Haha! It's textbook ham-fisted. I hope they never let that director make another.
Star Trek. I'm in Deep Space 9. I've never seen anything (except for the Abrams' travesties) that came after Voyager, so I'm pretty excited to eventually give the newer stuff a go.
Stardew Valley is getting there for me. I usually burn out on a game at 80 hours, or whenever the credits roll and there's no more fun content to pursue. I'm creeping up on 200 hours in SDV, and I often feel like I'm playing it because I have to harvest those blueberries to make mad cash to get that 10M clock that prevents decay on my farm. It's starting to feel like a job, but then, I still fire it up when I'm looking for something to play because it's just comfortable and easy to get into the groove. I think I really need to give it a break, but I just keep coming back.
Peter Watts' Blindsight for the second time. It's pretty dense. I'm catching more this time around. It's a fantastic read with some of the most alien aliens ever put to page. It was a meme how often it used to get recommended back on r/printsf which I miss a lot since its replacement here is essentially dead.
I'm sorry you found out this way. If you need help, it's available.
Razors
Definitely! I used to chase the largest number of blades. Mach 3, then Fusion. And then noticed that it was getting a bit insane paying $30 for a pack of four replacement heads. About ten years ago, I noticed a resurgence in double edged safety razor popularity. Bought a $50 Edwin Jaggar handle (which they replaced with a sturdier version for free when I broke it!), and have been picking up my Dorco blades $10 for 100 since. The shave is just as good, if not better, and getting straight lines is actually much easier. I feel like if more people knew, Gillette would just go out of business.
Told the granddads to choose a name as is Korean tradition.
As I get older, the cold bothers me more. Used to be, I could go outside and throw snowballs with my bare hands no problem. Nowadays, the temperature drops below 10, and suddenly my hands physically hurt if they get cold. It's not even related to how physically fit I am given I started a five-day-a-week gym habit eight years ago and am in some of the best shape of my life. It's just stupid aging as far as I can tell.
I loved my Dualsense too, and then the left stick started drifting so badly, it's completely unusable now. It's only about a year old, too. I blame Sekiro. Both my DS4s still work fine though, and they've seen much more use and abuse.
How on Earth does one spend 557 hours on Final Fantasy VI? I've finished it at least a half-dozen times over the years since it came out, and I doubt I've spent that much time with it. And at least one of those sessions I got everyone to max level and taught them every spell in the game. I suppose I have not taught Gau all the possible Rages, but doing that sounds insufferable.
I would look at that, but I bounced off VIM hard, so probably not for me.
