It's been a while since I tried to find it. I should give it another shot.
I bounced around a few different distros about twenty years ago. OpenSuse, Mint, and Ubuntu. I settled on Ubuntu (6.0X I think) because the others had a lot of trouble with hardware in my Korean laptop at the time. Ubuntu was the only one that had the track pad working right away, and also the only one I managed to get Korean keyboard input working in. I never did get the webcam working in any of them. I used Ubuntu in some form or another up until a few months ago when I switched to Mint. Largely because of Lemmy.
Shinji's fifteen or something, no?
I vaguely recall them getting consecutively better. Not that Sundiver was bad, just the later books were better. It was sometime ago, so I don't remember a whole lot of story beats, just spaceships piloted by dolphins hiding under water, and intelligent chimps talking about their weird sex rituals. I tore through them pretty quickly and never really considered a re-read.
A user named kadu was offering it up to all in the earlier thread. He said it'd be available as long as he was around. Just DM him for the link.
Synthesizer news and reviews, Dark Souls streams (Lobosjr is the only streamer I can tolerate), 80s and 90s music videos, cute cat videos, Rush covers, gadget teardowns, soldering videos.
Edit: Almost forgot robot sumo.
You monster!
Yup. I waited something like a year for Elden Ring to go on sale. No problem waiting again.
The obscure movie for me was... Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. I still know every line of dialog from beginning to end any time I happen to see it on.
Haha! Yeah, the nomenclature has gotten a bit weird with Fromsoft games. Now we've got Armored Core VI to contend with, too. It seems different enough, it probably won't get lumped in with the Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro stuff. Sekiro's pretty different too, though. Next it'll be Soulsbornekirocore.
There are a bunch of old Sega IPs I'd love to see get a modern treatment. Alex Kidd. Space Harrier. Shinobi. Wonder Boy in Monster Land got the proper treatment a few years back with a gorgeous remake and a pseudo-sequel.
I wish you even more luck.
