Lemmy does love going after thoughtcrime though

You could argue voting third party in a swing state is “Pro-Trump” but if the state is above 60% one party, your vote does not matter on the federal level.

GREAT point! Now that you mention it, that is where all the talk about me being conservative started. The problem is, people keep repeating that label without the original context. So when someone sees those comments—without knowing the backstory—they just assume it’s true. Then it spreads. A new person comes along, asks why everyone’s talking about me, and others just repeat the same line. As we are seeing happen in real-time in this very thread.

Really good insight, mate. Honestly, I should’ve pointed that out in my replies, but I’d kind of forgotten where it all started. Still baffles me that people think that, in spite of the fact that I created and moderate Socialist Workers Party communities, started anarchy spaces, and run several socialist groups.

Genuinely is funny that you have entire groups of people who hate you, write scripts to track you, gather logs to “document your evils” of posting things online, and you just keep going on.

Right?! Even tho the election was several months ago, they're still mad that I "threw" it. Me. One guy who voted socialist, ruined all of America. Hmmm, lets overlook the fact that non-voters outnumbered all of us third party voters by a huge fucking margin. Even if all third parties voted Harris, she would have lost. But nah, fuck that logic. It's my fault! lmao

Yeah, we need to make sure people like you and ideas like yours infest as few communities as possible.

That sounds like the very censorship you seem to be arguing against though.

I’m going to ignore you now.

Of course, you're free to ignore me. That is the right attitude! I would prefer people "ignore" and "block" rather than become serial downvoters.

Thanks, friend! :)

Yeah, it's crazy. I'm seeing smaller companies do it to. Just asking for a dollar a month or whatever. Nope. I'm done. No matter how good the software is, if they ask for a subscription, I won't do it.

The problem is that it only takes one person on Lemmy to say something is associated with Russia, and all of Lemmy pounces on it and will just keep saying it over and over. So now that this site has been associated with Russia, you're never going to win your argument--even if you're right. Lemmy's will just make shit up about it from now on.

I know, because someone decided to make up something and said I'm Russian, and that I get paid in "russian bitcoinz," (because I didn't vote for Harris or Trump) and to this day, people still say it. (I'm born, raised, live in USA by the way).

No worries, friend. I was scared you were part of the org that was charging for the article. I'll delete my snarky comment too! :)

You opened a post in a community and downvoted every comment.

Yep, and I’ve been seeing more of this on Lemmy lately.

I just don’t understand what drives someone to go out of their way to systematically downvote every comment a person makes—or every post in a whole community.

They’ll click on someone’s profile, scroll through the comments, and downvote everything without even reading. Or they’ll dive into a community and just mass downvote all the content.

Glad we can ban for that now. People like that spread nothing but negativity—figuratively and literally.

You did the correct thing.

YDI. And you took it way too far and way too seriously. The great thing about Lemmy is if you come across BS mods you don't like, you can just start up your own community.

I get banned for BS reasons a lot, just because of my name. Ya shrug, and move on, friend.

Way too many Lemmy's take Lemmy way too seriously. lol

Not sure what you're trying to imply. This is a global news article.

Agreed. Honestly, it didn't even really need a pic.

I know a little about what it's like to have people constantly try to remove me from places. At least in the electronic sense. Lemmy has a hate-erection for me, like no other. lol

Now that I experience hate and censorship daily, I have so much more sympathy for people like her.

And she has to deal with it in the real world. I don't. Very easy for me to laugh it off.

But that chick has to deal with relocating, lawsuits, hackers, etc. She's my total hero now. So fucking cool.
