Lol fair. I wore my XtraTufs on a flight and got some real weird looks in LAX on my layover

Straight up thought this was a kid

Any power tool can hurt you. I had a piece of maple kickback and explode on a miter saw, which I didn't even know was possible.

Luckily, the only actual injury I've gotten while woodworking was on a scroll saw, which is basically just a sewing machine with a small saw blade. Piece of wood pinched around the blade and jerked up, took the back of my finger against the blade. Minimal damage, but it bled like a stuck pig for a bit

It's super cool from an engineering standpoint! And I'm rather attached to my fingers, I'd like it to stay that way. Until I got a shaper, I would say the job site table saw I have was the most dangerous tool in my shop. That shaper scares the shit out of me. Just from a volume and complacency standpoint, I'm still more likely to have an accident on the table saw than any other tool, but that shaper can and will eat your entire hand.

Really cool video, thanks for sharing! The high speed test makes me feel even better about this purchase!

Thanks!

and don't chop your finger off pls

I'll try! Been successful for 6 years now, but accidents happen, which is why I wanted this one!

Transtint dye works better on softwood like pine. Traditional stains tend to blotch pretty badly unless you use a seal coat like shellac underneath. Prestain conditioners help some by saturating the pores, but still don't work great in my experience

Is there any chance of changing the profile view to show overview (posts + comments) like it used to be on Reddit vs having them segregated? Having it separated is a minor annoyance of mine

Great work on this app. I used Sync Pro for 10 years, this has blown Jerboa out of the water and has really enhanced the whole Lemmy experience for me

I lost my username once and couldn't recover the account

I hope so man. I went through the VA to get mine, which was its own nightmare (took 6 months to get them to approve a medication that I was already taking from my neurologist that I was seeing on private insurance (that I made sure was in the VA's network), even with an approved claim for service connected migraines and meeting their use criteria), but having dealt with my wife's insurance claims, that's a removed of a process.

That's a good point. Maybe worth building a shell affixed to the floor that limits access to the rails when exposed?

That is the best way I've seen this written and mirrors how I've felt about Reddit for a while now. Everyone is terminally despondent, and the sheer volume of posts like that seem either intentional or like people are trying to fit in by being as depressed or more so than everyone else.
