Interesting. I can't add images in the body, but that may just be an issue with Sync. There's a patch coming out soon that's supposed to address some issues with image upload, so maybe that'll fix it. Thanks for the input!

Google bought Waze a while back
Watching it right now, I think it holds up ok
There is a key distinction between a contracted public service and a private company running a for-profit business. Think buses (as you described) vs taxis.
Abe books was my go-to in college for international editions of engineering textbooks. $40 for a book that cost $450 for the US edition. Only downside was that all the units were in metric and weren't perfectly converted, so I had to check against a classmate if we had work out of the book. All the info was still the same tho, and it was 10% of the cost, and it let me take open book tests where a digital copy wouldn't cut it.
I second all of this, also recommend talking to your neurologist about Aimovig or other CGRP inhibitors, literally life-changing for me. 62% reduction in frequency and close to 80% reduction in severity of my migraines.
Before Aimovig, I ended up in the hospital with the worst migraine of my life. They gave me a cocktail of drugs that did absolutely fuckall for the pain and released me, just made it feel like every muscle in my body tightened up, which made the migraine pain even worse. The next day, I took sumatriptan and max dose of Tylenol, waited about 6 hours and did it again. Repeat a few more times and it got down to a manageable level, but I was out of commission for a week and a half before I felt anywhere close to normal.
I tried ubrelvy too, but it wasn't particularly effective for me
My understanding is that each instance essentially clones posts and comments of other instances that they are federated with. In the case of Beehaw, you'll see the old versions of posts and comments that were cloned to lemmy.world before Beehaw federated, but nothing since. So the users of each defederated instance will only see the respective version cloned on their instance, but not the new comments or posts that have happened since.

R.A. Salvatore was one of my favorite authors growing up. He maintained the quality writing for a very long time, but fair warning, it does eventually trail off. I reread the first 10 or so books while on vacation a few months ago, and still thoroughly enjoyed them.
You can even see the seam in the video
No problem! They worked great for me for a few years in Alaska, highly recommend them for snow or wet areas. They make insulated ones, but I never had an issue with the uninsulated ones if I doubled up on socks.
You will, however, get some weird looks if you wear them in an airport outside of the PNW
