No, it doesn't. I just tested it. I restarted my phone to make sure Bitwarden is closed, Opened the browser and opened a website where I have an account. In the login mask where I was prompted to insert my credentials the little popup appeared and when I tapped on it Bitwarden opened. It wanted me to enter my Master-Password so I did just that and it opened the DB to offer me the entries for auto-fill. You can even set a preference to immediately lock the DB after a single use and to always prompt the Master-Password (+ 2FA (optionally)) if you want.

Edit: Hell, you could even make it completely sign you out after every single use so you'd have to re-enter your email address, Master-Password and TOTP for 2FA. Not even KeePass offers you that level of security because you don't need a username for your DB.

Note: I do not recommending self-hosting bitwarden

Why not? I have my own instance running on my NAS and I love to have it self-hosted because this way I keep the passwords where I know nobody else can get them.

Great video! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna share it and maybe I can use it to raise awareness about (their) digital privacy.

I've watched half of the video and gotta say it all sounds very complicated. And since I don't know exactly what changes are made or options set back to default with that cleaner-script I decided to just get through every entry in the user-overrides.js provided. In hindsight this was a good idea because I know some of these changes in the settings would have broken stuff for me. Actually I didn't have to change a single option because my Firefox was already hardened enough. ;) At least I now know I'm good and have been good.

Even if you are able to self host Pi-hole or AGH, NextDNS is a great option because you can use it even when you're not at home. I use it on all of my mobile devices.

I switched back and forth between Firefox and Chromium based browsers like Brave and Vivaldi. To be fair Firefox felt slow in comparison for a long time but that changed in the last few months. I think since about Firefox v114 I don't feel a difference anymore and that's why I'm using Firefox now. Best is to tell those people to try Firefox again because it recently became faster (in my experience).

It's not necessary but it ensures that all DNS queries are processed by your router. It could be that there's software that uses a specific DNS server hardcoded to make sure they can avoid your Pi-hole (or alternative solution) to track you.

No, but your OS needs to be configured to use the DNS server on your router. Easiest way to do this is with DHCP + NAT rule to ensure all DNS queries are processed by your router.

It's safe. I have a self-hosted Vaultwarden instance on my NAS for years now. I absolutely love Bitwarden.

It's pretty complicated to use or maybe I'm just too dumb. Also it looks like I can't put images in table cells which makes it irrelevant to me anyway.

Encrypted DNS is better than nothing but in terms of privacy it doesn't help much.

Lately? Hmm, I've been checking out search engines and stick with Whoogle for now. I'm using a public instance because I don't wanna pay for a VPS just for a search engine and self-hosting in my home LAN is imo worse for privacy than using a public instance.
