That's clearly a yellow beam, making Worf a Jedi Sentinel.
More a product of Berman than of the '90s.
That "this is why we have the Prime Directive" episode with evolutionary predestination and evolution as a god figure was pretty awful, though.
I think what makes DS9 work is its core premise, and the problem with some of the newer stuff is they're trying for that tone without that premise to back it up. As Sisko says early on, it's easy to be a saint in paradise, but DS9 isn't paradise; they're at a backwater that's been ravaged by decades of military occupation and is struggling to get by. On Earth, people can just replicate whatever they need for free, but Bajor doesn't have a post-scarcity economy and they often need to make hard choices. Half the crew also isn't from the Federation and doesn't have that strong sense of morality ingrained in them from birth.
It's Dorn's delivery. He and Stewart could make any of their lines sound epic, no matter how cheesy the episode was
Hey, I kinda liked that episode.
Ah, I see! They pose as humans because they're embarrased about their lobe size.
Seems more like a midpoint between TNG and DSC designs to me. He has that nondescript head ridge from DSC's Klingons, for instance.
I interpreted that a bit differently, but I definitely see what you mean. I got, "The biobed/M'Benga needs some extra maintenance, but that's fine since it/he can always be fixed up." The overall darkness of the episode and the ambiguity of the ending makes that fuzzy, though.
I hope that this is the middle part of a three episode arc, like with Una's modifications and trial. If there's a part 3 I think it will end more positively, but we'll have to wait and see.
Part of the problem is that they seem to think S31 are the good guys.
Characters wander in and out of the story with little logic, the Dominion plot line just kind of trails off, and all of Starfleet vs Starbase 1 was kind of silly.
But Shaw is an amazing character, Vadic is fun to watch, the TNG crew got a far better send off than Nemesis, and the acting is fantastic. The fanservice of seeing the Ro, Shelby, Moriarty, and the E-D again was also fantastic as someone who grew up watching TNG with my dad.
The season has problems, but I love it anyway.
How old is she? Because Encounter at Farpoint isn't exactly an episode that would hook the average kid.
