I still think there should be a show that opens with Jadzia and Shaw on the Black Mountain. Call it Star Trek: Revenants or something.

Most of the planned season 5 wound up in season 4, but there was so much that some of it did wind up in the actual fifth season. Most of what made it wound up in the back half, which is significantly better than the final season's front half.

But I like having a reason to pretend sexist Pike didn't happen.

Interestingly, this scene technically isn't part of continuity because "The Cage" as a whole technically isn't part of continuity, only the parts that made it into later episodes, like "The Menagerie," are. Remember, "The Cage" was a rejected pilot that only got released later on as a bonus, like a collection of deleted scenes. "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was the show's accepted pilot.

I want to know how many takes were used for the, "Yes, ma'am, his army of evil," bit. I always crack when he says it.

I always headcanoned that Rom was very quickly fired after DS9…

As Grand Nagus, I don't think there's anyone higher up to fire him. The position is a weird cross of king, CEO, and Pope. Only death or resignation seems to be able to oust a Grand Nagus.

Yep. Turns out it's cheaper to make cyborg costumes than giant insect puppets.

Even without holodecks, should be able to get to four via the Guardian. The present versions of Will and Tom with the past versions of Will and Tom.

There is only one tiny way this could be better - in the original intro, the nebula parts just ahead of Voyager's prow thanks to the navigational deflector. Replicate that one little bit and it will be perfect.

Really depends on the site, the time of year, and the specific topic. The Trek subreddit, for instance, tended to be pro-DSC when a season was airing and anti-DSC between seasons. Even here, that recent thread on the DSC Klingon redesign was very in favor of DSC.

I bailed on DSC back when season 2 was airing. Specifically, Project Daedalus was my last episode. Later, I tried watching it again and trying to enjoy it more on its own merits, ignoring the Trek branding and whatnot. I wanted to bail again at the exact same point. I don't know if it's a too many cooks situation with the constant showrunner turnover or if the writers' room just has an obsession with melodrama, but at no point did it feel, to me, like there was a good show hiding in there.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
