The system is not going to revolve around your ID or passport. The entire point is to make something different, we already have some systems in place that only share part of your personal info.

In NL we already have iDIN and DigiD which are only verification tools, iDIN is used for sharing your name, address, birthday and a couple other things so that would share way to much for this purpose and DigiD shares even more. iDIN uses your bank app and DigiD has it's own app and they show you what data is shared to the site.

I wouldn't want to use one of these things directly siince most people will not read that small list (it's literally just one sentence plus what data is shared in words).

But if we get another app which can only be used to share our birthday it is fine imo. For me personally the year would be fine, or you can do it so it shares if you are 18 or above.

Let's hope that new EU age verification system is actually good and privacy friendly.

Heck the name of the brand doesn't have to be the same as the name of the company.

It is also standard practise to do in basically every country. It helps with liability, but it also helps when you want to sell parts of the company and can help for tax reasons as well.

I have seen companies with similar structures who only have a couple of hundred thousand euro of revenue.

Sorry to lazy to go through articles like this, do they mention if this is just in the US or something? Or do they also do this in the EU?

Dual booting Linux and Windows can really help to move your operation to Linux. I have been using Linux machiens besides my main for a while and now in the proces of moving to Mint. I won’t be able to move everything and some things are more annoying (like Nvdia GPU drivers), but the vast majority is easy. Especially because most people these days work in browsers for the most part. I (and probably you from the sound of it) are one of the few who still use a lot of desktop apps.

Not sure I know exactly what you mean with what Terry Crews did.

I know you didn’t mention it for nefarious reasons or anything. I just wanted to mention it :P

And yeah we should all respect eachother.

I would considering moving that data to Germany since they are trying to bypass an anti encryption law in Sweden
