Wanted to put Proton VPN on my Steam Deck, so it's quite frustrating that even a distribution with millions of users doesn't have a version of the program released for it, given that the alternative methods of using it don't allow for easy server switching.

Because the cartel was letting everyone live in peace and harmony before the arrest?

While it would be great if the US weren't unilaterally supporting the actions of the Israeli government, unfortunately a major shift from that foreign policy position would likely only receive substantial support from the people already likely to vote Democrat, or anti-Trump at the very least. It would likely be spun by media outlets that are either generally conservative or simply biased in favor of the Israel government in such a way that would push moderates towards Trump. As Trump would only increase the country's support of the Israeli military, it's more important to avoid him being elected to avoid a worse situation in the long run.

If he lets Israel strike Palestine, then Ukraine should be able to destroy the Russian infrastructure that's enabling the Russian Army to be easily resupplied. In contrast to Netanyahu, Zelensky's chief interest wouldn't be to target population centers anyhow, as such a move would only fuel Putin's popularity.

There isn't a free alternative that works as well, unfortunately. Bing not only has many of the same issues, but has worse results. Since DuckDuckGo makes use of Bing's API for its results, in addition to lacking features such as date range searches, it is still a step down in terms of the quality of one's search results. Having switched to Firefox due to Google's efforts to make unilateral, self-serving changes to Chromium, I'd be only too glad to switch search providers if an alternative provider had a similar number of accurate results.

He still isn't directly supporting the students peacefully protesting at campuses, such as by directly addressing the measures that have been employed to snuff out their free speech.

They still won't listen; they want an excuse to raise subscription costs again while using it as a means of lobbying Congress to pass bills that favor them...

Considering that Valve makes more money per employee than most major tech companies, it definitely seems like it would still be turning a profit if its share of sales were reduced to 15 or 20 percent. Steam's services aren't free; the 30% fee inflates the price of games by 43%. As with any company Valve needs to have a high enough profit margin to cover long-term costs and R&D budgets, but the 30% cut is an outdated industry standard from when server operating costs were substantially higher than today.

While long term availability seems to be a problem for lots of reality TV shows, usenet or a private torrent tracker like TorrentLeech should work if the show you're looking for is popular enough. As datacap-free usenet access is usually at least $50 a year ($52 a year for Frugal Usenet + NZBGeek; forgoing the latter would reduce it to $40 a year, but might take a while for several seasons of TV shows since free indexers only offer up to 5 downloads a day each), private torrent trackers would ideally be better, particularly given that they often bundle episodes into season packs. As public trackers have a lower proportion of seeders in comparison, they generally only have the latest seasons of most reality TV shows.

Unfortunate that they purge their database of unseeded torrents. While there wouldn't be the same incentive as on a private tracker for people to come back and reseed something, removing them decreases the likelihood that niche releases stay available in the long term.

In retrospect I regret drinking the Nintendo koolaid for so long, but turning what used to be the fairly equitable Virtual Console system into a ROM rental service made me jump ship to the Steam Deck and it's been smooth sailing since.
