I agreed sometimes we shouldn't censor. But if other instances just are shit then I think it's best to defederate. Plus it doesn't hurt the other instance. People are still free to go wherever they want it's not censoring the same way reddit and centralized platforms would do it

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure reddit allowed openAI to train on their network and Musk was a big donor of OpenAI. So wouldnt these API changes be to monopolize the market since OpenAI has access to both these sites and is the leader in the field.
