Steak as in a Philly Cheesesteak.
The politicians are clutching their pearls in shock and anger. Those motherfuckers have enabled corporations to behave badly in the first place. Fucking hypocrites.
Man fuck those fascists. I am glad for every day that I am not on there writing content for them. Now granted my content might be shyte but it still drove revenue. 😆
I've had more crushes that went nowhere faster than my investment portfolio. 😆
At the end of this month, I will be at 2.5 months completely on Linux. The only thing stopping me was simply not knowing that Steam and Proton existed for Linux. I can play the games that matter to me on Linux. Good riddance to Windows!
I get this to a certain extent. But if Amazon makes absolutely no effort to police its platforms, then it should be able to be sued for potential defamation, libel, etc. Amazon cannot have total immunity from responsibility. I am not a lawyer but I think there is a legal term for things like this called, "Best Effort." I am more familiar with criminal law than civil law though.
As long as they all support ActivityPub, federate, and don't benefit a corporation of any kind I am all in on them.
It does not mean anything for me because I am not a Windows user. For Windows users it means subscription models and renting software. It could also mean eventually booting your computer into a desktop that is in the cloud. I hope to god that does not happen because it may make finding hardware that will run Linux and BSD that much harder.
Those are people that came to the fediverse thinking that it was the exact same thing as corporate social media and that is where they were wrong. I heard the same quips and gripes from social media influencers. The whole point of the fediverse is to get away from ads, influence, toxicity and all that other crap.
I just read the article. I wonder how many bootlickers and corporate apolgists are going to say anything.
This is hubris is really good for the fediverse. I had a relatively piddly account at only 80,000 in karma but I I still closed my account. Good riddance to that last piece of corporate social media. The next thing I want to see is something similar to Pinterest in the fediverse space but it may end up being redunant.
This is fucking ridiculous! Do you have to buy a subscription in order to use the appliance? If so, it seems to me that this would constitute unfair trade practice. Some shit just does not belong on the internet. Can you imagine the serious and life threatening situation that could develop, if say, somebody hacked into a system and turned gas stoves on and a fire developed? No, it's time to draw the line at IoT!
