I reduced my time on both platforms.

On reddit most of my favorite subs eventually ended up mostly inactive.

And on lemmy/kbin it's either kinda scattered all across, or federation is not consistent like missing comments/votes, which makes it less fun to use, tbh.

nope... I'm certainly not participating in an act to harass people on the internet, not even /u/spez.

I could reproduce it by closing Firefox on mobile.
Then, after opening kbin.social it would show me as logged in, but once I navigate somewhere else, I get logged out

If I subscribe to someone I'd expect to see their posts only, but I wouldn't expect my feed to popilulate with their subscribed magazines.

i.e. If I follow you, and you're subscribed to /m/memes, and I'm not... I don't want posts from /m/memes to show up on my feed, unless they're posted by you.

if what you said is true, that'd be horrible.
just because I follow people, I don't want their shit being my shit ๐Ÿ˜‚

what software? I do a little bit of music myself, but just as a hobby... and FL studio runs great with wine

That's one idea that I pretty much like. There's also programming.dev. We could kinda naturally move all programming related topics there.

Guess what, it's not only the small musicians who suffer, it's everyone who falls into the "small" category.

Speaking as an IT professional, who has worked at smaller agencies, where new technologies arise and make our work more efficient. Do you think our bosses let us enjoy the free time that we gained from these advancing technologies? They don't! Instead they put even more workload onto us, up to the point where we burn out even faster than before. It's huge difference wirking on one task for five days (bc of limitations) vs. working on 10 tasks during the same period.

Same here, while I do have the time to chase around pirated movies/games/software, I want my music to just be there with me without all the hassle.

Spotify's algorithm is just great!

I think, this might be due to the currently ongoing federation issues.

I too see mostly fediverse, nostupidquestions stuff in my feed, but once the dust settles, and a better suggestion algorithm comes into pleace, I'm sure the feed will be much more diverse than now.
