The title "Makes EL source available" made me very frustrated for a second lol
This is good news, I am glad they have officially released FOSS code for EL and not, which I thought I read, them moving from a FOSS license to a source available license.
Isn't this an instance of the benefits of the US constitution?
I agree with being pragmatic, but the opinion of hating Microsoft isn't unfounded. There are pragmatic reasons to avoid building up and entrenching yourself in tooling that doesn't respect you as a user or is controlled by companies that has interests that don't align with yours.
I mean people have doing new works in the style of other artists for a while as well.

The neater idea would be a standard model or set of models, so that a 30G program can be used on ~80% of target case, games and video seem good canidates for this.

Xonotic is my favorite shooter too date. Just start it up and jump into an instaglib game for grapple hook sniper fun. The other game modes are good too though.

I hope we see more composable desktop apps in the FOSS space so that we can at least get more UI options for a given backend. Maybe then we can get closer to what users want. The other option more low code options, so users with more domain expertise and build UXs like they want.
Libre Software was/is the best strict definition of this to me.
