It's a gesture that ultimately doesn't mean much. It's basically a symbol that means "vaguely populist sentiment."

You know what I mean.

My point is, complaining about conservatives or fascists on Lemmy is 100% preaching to the crowd.

I just don't agree based on the state of Facebook.

I'm certain dense human populations are better for the environment than non-dense human populations, because dense human populations need to be moved around less.

You're basically advocating for human extinction in this comment.

Encryption, photos are higher quality through it (this is where "Android cameras are bad" came from,) typing indicators, sending messages over Wi-Fi, iMessage games, and message effects.

I mean, that already is used to significantly lower at-the-pump gas prices from what they actually are, and raising gas prices is an easy way to lose an election in America, so that probably won't change. Notice that in many other countries gas prices are way higher than in the US.

I know there's no laws that allow the people of the USA to prosecute companies for business models that destroy the fabric of society, and I even fear that kind of law could be abused to prosecute abortion clinics and LGBT rights orgs...but dating apps make me wish there was.

Andrew Tate...PUAs...Red Pillers...it all only makes sense in a world where dating apps are the primary way we meet people.

The notion that books are "of the past" has done harm to many.

USA:

I would be running on a social democratic platform with a focus on urbanism, affordable housing and tough-on-landlords policies, de-escalation with China, stopping state governments from being aggressive toward Mexico, and introducing a bodily autonomy amendment to the Constitution, with rhetoric that attempts to take the notion of American pride back from conservatives and warmongerers.

I was one of those people stopped being "anti-SJW" when Unite the Right happened, and later I flirted with anarcho-communist ideas (I'm still in my early 20s, this is more common with American youth than you'd think.) The former would turn off my social democratic base, the latter would discourage centrist voters. Also my views on race don't align perfectly with the American progressive orthodoxy (it has a lot to do with being mixed race, though I don't think my views are popular with mixed people either.) And I crossdress (might boost me with socdems but halt momentum with undecideds and old people.)

I'm okay with this on the condition that that platform is PC.

Even that might become an x86-64 vs ARM divide.

"only"

That's a clear majority. If we had a referendum about it we'd get it (but the US doesn't have federal referendums.)

Here's a strange one I don't necessarily disagree with (but I'm not sure I agree either:)

"Jazz is an American form of classical music"

According to someone that was in a music history textbook (don't remember the country but it was in Europe.)
