  • “Hey could I get you in my office for a sec”
  • “Yeah what’s up?”
  • “Yeah so listen you’re fired”
  • “Oh hey, you are too!”

Who’s talking to the workers these days lol. I’m ordering ahead through the app to get the discounts on offer, stack Maccas points to redeem free food and to be in an out of the joint as quick as possible.

The conspiracy theorists are going to run wild with this one.

"Alright mister, you misbehave 7 more times and you're done for... for a year... on that account that you're using"

I've never been an active Twitter user but it surprises me how much they do seem to be getting away with. Does it really not bother most people? Last time I logged in (before deactivating my account like a month ago) it seems like people I followed were still going about using it as usual. I suppose similarly I'm saying that here on Lemmy having migrated from Reddit - and Reddit is very much active after its own drama too, I guess.

I have an alt on https://sh.itjust.works/ because I like that it’s powered by 99% renewable energy. I did attempt to sign up for Aussie.zone too but I think that’s still awaiting approval.

EDIT: Oh yeah and I do have an account on kbin.social as well

There’s some really cool pictures in here for the 2023 Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology image contest.

What were the items that really pushed it up? Was it for a special occasion?

  • In short: A proposed undersea electricity project connecting Tasmania to the mainland is under threat due to increasing costs, with Tasmania's government flagging it wants to renegotiate the terms of the deal

  • What's next? Tasmania's premier says he has spoken to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and discussions about alternative funding are continuing

Plans by the federal government for Australia to generate more than four-fifths of its power from renewable sources by 2030 are coming under pressure amid claims the country is way off track.

Key points:

  • There are increasing suggestions Australia will fall short of its 2030 renewable power target of 82 per cent

  • Analysts predict Australia's share of renewable energy is on track to be about 60 per cent at the current rate of progress

  • The forecasts come amid mounting opposition to projects such as transmission lines in some parts of Australia

Kinda off topic but the title of this post made me think; Do you think Adobe HQ is referred to as the “Abode”?

Are people just ignoring the X name change and still calling it Twitter? That’s awesome lol

Personally, the value proposition for Netflix is really lacking compared to Amazon Prime (which also comes with prime video and Amazon music) and Apple One family (which also comes with Apple Music, extra iCloud storage, Apple TV and Apple Arcade) which I have so it was pretty easy to cancel my Netflix subscription.

If I could bundle Netflix with something else it might make it worth it but comparatively the content on Apple TV is so much better than anything Netflix have at the moment, in my opinion (really enjoying Silo atm but have loved Ted Lasso, Severance, The After Party amongst others).

Another +1 for Apple Maps from me. I prefer how it handles navigation and even the look of the maps is nicer after years of using Google Maps. It plays nicely in the car with CarPlay too, naturally
