The following devices are end-of-life, no longer receive firmware or driver security updates, and receive extended support from GrapheneOS via a legacy branch based on Android 14 with only the Android Open Source Project security backports, certain other security patches, and other minimal changes to keep them working:

  • Pixel 5a (barbet)
  • Pixel 5 (redfin)
  • Pixel 4a (5G) (bramble)

I don't know. Just because they're not a publicly traded company doesn't mean they don't want more money 🤷 but certainly they may want to "stay in their lane" and focus on what they're best at. Just seems like an absolute fuckton of money they're leaving on the table to me.

A lot of people think fragmentation of digital markets will deliver a worse experience.

While it does add a tiny amount of friction, the trade-offs are massive.
