As long as major search platforms are also in the AI business, they have little incentive to change pace.

Of course not. The last comment was made based on the title and not the content, which focused completely on African-American crime. I will stand by the fact that the media perpetuates this in English too. If one event occurs, the media makes it appear as if it’s a widespread trend and overplay the frequency and severity of such events, while implying specific races are responsible. All of which is a blatant effort to maintain status quo. “The poor cause crime, the rich follow the rules”

Yeah this whole subsidize, too big to fail horseshit was status quo fifteen years ago but Stellantis isn’t even an American company. Let the Jeep factory shutter, stop giving into their demands for government fuel. Dry them up, let them go down. If they can’t survive without the subsidies, better more effective companies will.

With laws the way they are right now, companies can leverage access to data for providing a “free” service and you sign your rights to ownership of the data by default when using their services (terms of service).

I couldn’t give a Windows computer to my grandparents without it being buried under a pile of catalogs and magazines, maybe used once or twice. That’s anecdotal but I definitely don’t think it’s uncommon.

144Hz is not a holdover in the case of computer monitors. It’s the maximum bandwidth you can push through DVI-D Dual-link at 1080p, which was the only standard that could support that refresh rate when they began producing LCD monitors built to run 144Hz.

Reminds me of how I read awhile back that commercial mortgage-backed securities are pretty prevalent in today's major investment portfolios. This more recent article reads to me like, "don't panic, everything is fine, nothing to worry about here"

It’s definitely not unlikely they knew these class-action suits were in the works long before they were formally filed. A lot of times these are not a surprise to a company with a massive legal team.

I enjoy seeing all the new ASUS hardware but I’ve never had luck with their service department. For the past decade, any time I’ve dealt with them it has been a less-than-satisfying experience
