There are no rules against non-English posts. If you can’t understand it, don’t vote against it. That’s a discriminatory reaction, just keep scrolling if you don’t read Japanese. If the mods want to restrict languages, they have every ability to do so.
Anyone know the easiest way to short this stock?
Never say never. The phones in our hands are orders of magnitudes more powerful than the computer that took people into space and enabled landing on the moon. Eventually even today’s technology will be obsolete and potentially even easy to replicate in a garage. 2nm processes may be difficult, but 40nm process is certainly not impossible for hobbyists of the future.
Microsoft system administrators have full access to any physical device information, this includes a report on new internal devices or changes. Your company may not be so serious about security, but why on earth are you willing to risk your livelihood on this?
I’ve been using ArchiveBox, this looks a bit more feature-full than ArchiveBox although it seems like ArchiveBox has been pretty stable. Anyone have experience with both, can vouch for the pros and cons?
I may take some time to compare the two. After taking another look at Linkwarden I get the impression it may handle archiving pages differently than ArchiveBox, which isn’t a bad thing it may just not fit the usage of everyone who uses ArchiveBox. The presentation and UI look really good, which is something I find ArchiveBox suffers a bit from.
There’s a Bocchi the Rock community!? I’ve been missing out
They don’t give us free games with the OS anymore but TempleOS has HOLY games
Yeah, Federal law is pretty lax on any privacy protections. You would think that wiretapping laws would carry over into digital communications such as cellular usage, but I guess that doesn’t make much sense to the legal experts that run this country.
Seems like another “hey, what if we used LLMs for this” scenarios. It might be more effective, but exactly how many more resources are being used to make it do the same work as current compression algorithms? Effective doesn’t mean efficient and I think for lossless applications efficient is truly more important.
They tried making a phone already and it failed to gain steam.
I’m testing out Mlem on iOS and so far it is a much cleaner experience than even the desktop version of Lemmy’s webapp. Lots of nice QoL features.
Because it works. I don’t have to figure out what (A01839: Device error has occurred.) means or weird Android nonsense all the time. If I wanted a constant project I already have plenty with work and actual things I enjoy wasting my time on. If it’s my computer I can mess around, if it’s my phone it’s just a pain in the ass. Even Samsungs can get weird like that sometimes, although the lower quality and price Android phones are the worst for it.
