Not yet, but I think I know what the problem is. I can probably fix it before this release.

Right now, I can't give you an exact timeline. The current state of the master branch (the nightly builds) is less than ideal. It will require some time to make it less buggy and sluggish.

I could, however, put together a minor release from the patches we already have there but building on the 0.1.2 release. This would include the new sorting types and instance blocking introduced in Lemmy 0.19.

Don't worry; the latest version of Eternity is compatible with the upcoming 0.19 Lemmy release.

As for the lack of updates lately, I am very busy at the moment with work/uni stuff. I might be able to spend some time on it during the winter break, but I can't guarantee anything.

Thanks for the heads up!

I think the most important thing in this update is the new authentication method. To prepare Eternity for this update, I've prepared a patch that implements this mechanism in this commit. I will release an update with this patch included in the near future.

In the meantime, people can test this change in the nightly releases.

It's a fork. I've implemented a few new features for Eternity that aren't present in Infinity (e.g. images in comments). I don't want to make it too different from the original app and I think it would be great to port back features and bug fixes upstream. However, afaik right now the original dev won't be merging new pull requests until they've implemented the subscription model.

Yes, that makes sense. For example, "Infinity for Reddit" appears as just "Infinity" when you install the app. So "Eternity" could work similarly.

I haven't implemented it yet :(

Great idea!

I want to get an F-Droid release first, but I think it's too early for now.

Infinity is written in Java. I may port some parts of it to Kotlin some day, but It's not my priority for now.
