Probably because they're all bumping into each other. If you don't have many you can put them in a cocktail shaker or a plastic water bottle and shake them it works pretty well, but anything plastic will absorb the garlic smell of course!

I need to add extra emphasis and repeat this. Yes it is.

His dad sends him to the shop to ask for red and white striped paint, which doesn't really exist as the paint would mostly mix together in the tin and make some badly mixed pink paint. The employee in the shop sees this is a gag and asks a follow up question: would he like the paint to be striped vertically or horizontally? So they are on the way back and only *then the realisation dawns on them that this is a massive wind up, which sparks a rage large enough to break the door.

Yeah looks like most shared basements in my city. Every apartment has a private lock up like you can see on the right hand side in the image with the number 6 on it.

I made an account a long while ago when it was the only instance with any content but I'm just a lurker looking for memes and tech news. Feeling like I should change instance these days...

Where I live people have mixed langauge conversations fairly regularly by mixing their native language with whatever they're trying to learn - usually German or English, so that reaction is probably automatic.

Have you tried any of the news sources that aim to aggregate and debias news stories?

Two that I use are:

Ground.news

ImproveTheNews

They provide summaries, and also a breakdown of different sources reporting the stories. I find them pretty interesting and useful.

I use Ubuntu for work and have no issues with it to be honest. I install everything via apt, I think a few things are via snap but nothing that I've installed directly. It's stable and I can get on with stuff. I definitely am not a fan of the move towards snap and the app store: if I was to choose I'd go vanilla Debian.

I aim to whelm.

Maybe whelmed is just the regular state of being: when expectations are lived up to, but not exceeded?
