My question is-- What did you learn from this?

If you are using Bamboo slicer, you are pretty much using Prusa slicer since it's directly taken from that with minor changes. I've noticed I've been slowly migrating away from Prusa slicer, a fork of Marlin, to Orca slicer - which is a fork of Bamboo. The reason is Prusa slicer is now concentrating on updating for the new Mk4 and XL printers with a nod to the Mini. I'm still quite content my Mk3s+ and don't need all those new updates for printers I don't own.

Yeah as with any new gotta have technology, there comes a point where a great weeding out of less than efficient providers happens. And it's been happening to many 3D companies for a while now.

I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn last night. But no real medical professional would ever publicly confirm any actual diagnosis due to HIPPA concerns. What save you also saves him.

It's kind of a sad way to live. Your family is mostly dead and all your friends are gone. And the world isn't what you knew anymore. So you just sit there and wait to die yourself.

So many things organizations do when it comes to branding or advertisements should really be be run past just one 12 year boy before the idea gets turned loose, it would take is mere seconds to identify any problems.

Few people accomplish so much in ne lifetime. A life well lived evidently.

As someone who lived through those decades, I don't think it was so much being useful stooges, but rather each decade was very different in social tone and was a reaction to the current events.

The 1950's was about the successful end of WW2 and the bright future ahead of humanity. Good always wins over evil. We were going to have unlimited nuclear power and powerful computers to supply all our wants and needs. And rockets? Well, they were new and exciting. The future looked bright.

The 1960s brought real fear of nuclear Armageddon to everyone. If you think the world political situation is bad today, we all thought we were going to die at any moment. I can remember doing nuclear blast drills as a 5 year old in school. We invented the nuclear clock...... And the Cuban Missile Crisis was on. But, we were going to land a man on the moon before it was all over. But for SciFi, the Plucky Human arrived. Star Trek exemplified that. Captain Kirk foiled Evil Aliens(tm) while screwing every hot green or blue chick with two legs in a short skirt or skimpy furs across the (Un)known Galaxy.

The 1970's were simply more of the same. SciFi had expanded on the "Plucky Human" schitick with Battle Star Galactia. But Buck Rogers made a brief return also. But if you look closer, government has become more authoritarian yet somehow benevolent. Big Brother(tm) knows best was the unspoken motto. And a SciFi darkness started to show. Logan's Run, A Clockwork Orange, Roller Ball, and Soylant Green are just a few of the darker tend.

Which is kind of the path we are still following today I think. A strange mixture of r/HFA! and the dark ambiguity of Batman.

What is often referred to as "patina" is a form of rust/corrosion layer that provides a natural protection from active rust/corrosion that will ruin whatever steel alloy it forms on and is actively applied to many steel alloy surfaces. And even metals like aluminum and titanium naturally form a "patina" to prevent corrosion also.

See: Blued/browned gun barrels or case colored steels. All forms of protecting patina that can be quite striking to look at. Particularly case colored steels.

And promptly forget it the day after they no longer need to know it.........

Provenance. Track the origin.

Easy to say, often difficult to do.

There can be 2 major difficulties with tracking to origin.

1. Time. It can take a good amount of time to find the true origin of something. And you don't have the time to trace back to the true origin of everything you see and hear. So you will tend to choose the "source" you most agree with introducing bias to your "origin".
2. And the question of "Is the 'origin' I found the real source?" This is sometimes referred to Facts by Common Knowledge or the Wikipedia effect. And as AI gets better and better, original source material is going to become harder to access and harder to verify unless you can lay your hands on a real piece of paper that says it's so.

So it appears at this point in time, there is no simple solution like "provenance" and " find the origin".

Someone bring this sniveling fool to me! I grew up on a farm and when I learned to drive, I started with a 5x3 manual double stick and then "graduated" to a 15 speed. I will have this fool crying in his pablum within a mile.

I'm all for automatics. What transmission you drive does not lessen the driving experience.
