It's a nice thought, but it has so many modifiers it's pretty much worthless. Everything from road conditions, to time of day or night, to the size and weight and type of vehicle you are driving, to how old you are affects stopping distance and the interval you should be leaving.

Remember children - Driving should never be "relaxing." It's real work and demands your total concentration to protect yourself and everyone around you. So put the phone down and even turn off the radio. Put your head on a swivel like a fighter pilot. And have an escape plan for every inch you drive.

I use Phind solving computer problems. It does cite the sources it uses. At least for distro and general Linux issues. So far, it's been a very good resource when I've needed it.

Just a curious question - Is there any VR sets that work with Linux Distros? I'm not much of a gamer to need or want one. Just want to learn for learning's sake.

Meh, don't worry about it. If you are happy with how it's going for you - enjoy the ride! Not everyone needs to be bothered by the terminal. But it IS there if you need it or want to use it.

Besides, if Arch users wanted to be be real gurus they'd be running EMACS and not Arch.

The hypesters and grifters do not prevent AI from being used for truly valuable things even now. In fact medical uses will be one of those things that WILL keep AI from just fading away.

Just look at those marketing wankers as a cherry on the top that you didn't want or need.

Yeah, cities that get them have no clue about the long term costs. A lot of those 'free' units are now just sitting in a fenced parking lot and are unusable.

When I was younger and a volunteer firefighter in a small rural town, we needed to replace one of our 'grass rigs' for fighting wildland fires. We had used it for over 35 years - and we got it second hand from our state DNR for free. We thought a Humvee truck style bed would make a fantastic grass rig. We checked in on it and the DOD straight up told us nope, you can't have a used one - no one can get one. We use them for target practice. Perhaps they saved us from a money pit. We ended up with another used pickup from the DNR return pool.

Yeah, the signs are starting to manifest. You will embrace the penguin at some point to get what you desire.

You just wait for the next storm. When the lines fall, they will be gone.

While a baby is more laundry than you are used to, try having 4 teen-aged Daughters in the house.

I swear the washer and drier ran 24/7 from when then oldest hit about 12 years old until the youngest moved out for collage. I went from needing to wash kids clothes to repairing the washers and driers they went through. I even needed to take my own clothes to the laundromat in town 6 miles away so I could have clean clothes more than once............

Not that you don't deserve the time off - you do. But they ain't wrong are they.

Perhaps it 'tis a silly thing. But I just want to thank whoever did the art work for drawing the stick figure guy with the shotgun as being left handed and holding a left hand shotgun.

My mental status thanks you and as another member of the Bar Sinister, I also thank you.

And unless you keep that EV plugged in and charging during frigid temperatures, that warming will cost you in usable mileage. And you might need a better charging system than a simple 110/120V circuit. Because that might not be enough to prevent some loss of charge.

The point is, there ain't no free lunch here. Batteries, at the current tech, just tend to suck at low and high temps outside of their intended operating range.
