Variety - a silly taskbar program that changes my background randomly from my own selected sources with added random quotes. I have it set to change my background every 3 hours and the quotes every hour I think. I just can' live without it anymore.
So you think a low payed adult worker will either?
Ain't none of you people ever been inside a packing plant have you?
Never let ideology get in the way of practicality. I like your MIL.
I wonder if the 'Black' part means less to the republican party than her being a pretty competent woman. I can see Harris pulling a LOT of single issue woman voters over the abortion rights issue. And that scares the republican party. It would kill the down ticket vote as well.
Same for my Great-Grandfather, but it was much more than that when I look at his life.
Went from horse and buggies and steam trains, lived through 2 world wars, saw rural electrification - 1930s for him - bring lights and washing machines and telephones, survived his own pandemic - Spanish Flu 1918-1919, saw the invention of automobiles, radios, and TVs, heavier than air flight, the Great Depression, the beginnings of the digital world, and watched the Moon Landings with me sitting in his favorite chair in our living room.
When he died, no one really knew how old he was - there was no official record of his birth certificate since he was born at home in a very rural area. While I'm old myself now and have seen some few changes, I cannot fathom the sheer number of societal upheavals and disruptions he went through every decade of his life.
As a user of FreeCAD and someone who made a living using CAD software, FreeCAD ain't it for the 'real world' yet. But I do have hopes that someday it might be.
If you wish to eat the rich, you must be willing to risk dying to do so. Until then, you are just whinging and the rich know it.
Yes, yes we DO use the metric system officially. In the early 1970's the metric system was made the official standard for weights and measures.
What we didn't do was force everyone to use it at 3:11AM 11/21/1974. It was decided to take a longer approach and let the change happen naturally and it has happened.
Everything in the grocery store is marked with metric weights and volumes. We buy butter by the gram, soda pop by the liter and whisk(e)y buy the milliliter. And everyone is looking for that same missing 10mm socket/wrench. (Where does do those things go anyway?)
How much more metric do we really need to adopt?
Can't you see those are safety sandals. And just like safety squints, are approved PPE across the whole 3rd world industrial sphere. OP will be perfectly safe.
Goddam right they are cool - precisely because they are smart, talented, and engaged in the world around them. Why would I have raised them to be less than that?
It's harder to learn for many people than you might think. There are 1000's of different kinds of types and models many with subtle differences from one another from one year to the next. Nor do you know just how mechanically sound that gangbanger's gun is either - what parts might be broken, missing, or badly modified.
It's probably not worth the risk when you can just place it in a lockbox and call the cops to deal with it.
Only one was prevented. The 3rd one, the person had no plans or interest in an assassination attempt. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Edited for missing critical word. Thanks to Warl0k3@lemmy for the proof read!
