As a father who raised 4 daughters, you try and stop a young woman from wearing jewelry, perfumes, and even makeup. That's a fight you WILL lose every time.

You should see the dating scene. A young Amish boy holding hands with a young Native walking down a hallway, (or vice versa). It ain't right I tell you.

Real life has always been either Pythonesque or the 3 Stooges. And as far as anyone can tell, is unlikely to ever be fixed.

I've switched from DuckDuckGo to Ghostery Private search. I've been happier with the results than DDG.

What sometimes bothers me is constantly getting asked to reach for something high because I'm tall. My Wife has always been good at that despite all the step stools we have around the house for her.

I reached a point where I now ask her to pick things up off the floor because she's shorter than me, (she's 5'3" I'm 6'4"). Making her closer to the ground.

Such a video is the job AI was created to do.

Maybe not the Hero we want, but the Hero we deserve.

As a retired medic who has has to deal with my share of the mentally ill, I will try to add a little context perhaps.

What got them to enter the apartment is they probably realized they were dealing with a mentally ill person who was not properly on their meds, (we can't say for sure at this point - but it's as likely as not), and they then started what should have been a simple welfare check. Which can entail entry to observe the person and the general living conditions. Cops do welfare checks everyday, multiple times a day. The next step if they determine there is a problem, is to request medical assistance, an ambulance, to deal with the person. The cops are to remain in scene and assist if needed - i.e. help talk the patient into seeking medical help or sometimes stop an assault on EMS. But that's what SHOULD have happened.

Instead a straight up murder was committed.

IF you run across a firearm on a patient, (which is really isn't a common thing), it gets placed in a lockbox and then locked into a "safe room". Chances are good there be a cop there in a short order anyway due to the patient having been shot by a gun.

Years ago I had a co-worker from Miami. He had a bumper sticker that said "Miami - Flee it like a Native" on his car.

The easiest way to solve the editorial issue for a lot headlines like this is to simply ask a teenager to read it. Their reaction will tell you if it's correct or not.......

The guard rails are pretty good enough as is. When you hear of something like this it's very often caused by lack of maintenance/poor installation/assembly. There is a guy on youtube that has videos of a whole bunch of guardrails that are simply unsafe because they are missing bolts or were assembled incorrectly.

And remember - guard rails are meant to slow you down enough to try and prevent a worse situation rather than always turning you back into the roadway to create a larger accident with other traffic or stop you completely.

You may wish to consult a Urologist about that. (Seriously)

If I had done so earlier in my life, I might not have needed 3 prostate surgeries and now I need to self cath 2 to 4 times a day. And I can tell you, needing a cath will really put a crimp in your social life............

While I do have a couple of DeWalt drills, I've been a member of the House of Ryobi for 20+ years. Ryobi was the first to really push the idea of "one battery fits all" ecosystem with their 18V ONE batteries.

My Wife bought me a tool set for Christmas one year and I have never looked back. 20 years later I'm still using those tools and Ryobi still supports them. A new Lithium battery battery still works in my old tools. The "pro tools" do not take that track.
