in german there is a synonym for "to preserve", it's "einWECKen"
I Pesonally prefer the products of Bormioli Rocco over Weck, partly because they are cheaper, but also i prefer the mechanism.
At least where i live you can buy these in every Supermarket, and the squared shape makes storing stuff in a drawer way easier.
