Lols. Yea i actually hate that. No i gave been begging my org to just treat interns differently and actually help them rather than let them sink or swim. Most of the interns we get are expected to know all the ins and outs, but they are just kids yet basically. So i think hiring managers honestly should lower the bar and then the org needs to properly train and teach them to get em up to speed. Maybe it takes six months but it's about time we start investing in our people.

A year and a half? Basically when hyprland got good enough. I used to use awesome and needed something with similar pretty features.

Everything is declared, from packages to configuration, and then I can put it in a git repo locked to versions. If something breaks on updates, you have free rollbacks. Which means you can't screw up too much. Also it has almost all the software.

While that's true, all the things they built are individual and open source, it wouldn't take too much work for sometime who knows how to package things up for a phone app. That said, you'd need another device to do all the processing.

I think you mean, time for Bethesda to get their act together rather than create trash. I love skyrim, morrowind, and am excited for starfield, but larian is a bit smaller than Bethesda who is owner by zenimax who is owned by Microsoft and therefore has the folks to make awesome things. And yet you have BG3 as a masterpiece. It's all excuses to me. I wouldn't call it unfair. I'd call it fair. I'd say larian is even handicapped, and they just kicked the pants off Bethesda.

I guess I'd agree. I'm just quite pessimistic and view that almost all people are quite corrupted and checks and balances of a sort reign it in.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say power does corrupt. For almost all of history, any sort of power eventually comes with corruption. Its kinda the human condition. That being said, I do think there are ways of minimizing that corruption and defending against it.

Don't get me wrong Guix is hard too, you'll have to package things yourself, or use flatpak, or use distrobox or maybe nix itself just to get all the things you need. BUT if you can grasp the language and packaging guidelines, it's much more clearly laid out. The CLI tools are clearer, the methods are too. It's not this confusing split mess that seems to be with NixOS. And there is still not a clear plasma desktop. But I'm trying to fix that perhaps. 😁
